Abstract: An error guide offering method of an image forming apparatus which includes a display unit to display a user interface (UI) offering an error guide to an error, the method including: detecting the error from the image forming apparatus; determining whether the error occurs from a plurality of locations; determining whether error guides to the error occurring from the plurality of locations have a common procedure; displaying a first error guide to a first error; displaying a second error guide to a second error instead of returning to a standby mode upon a completion of the processing of the error according to the first error guide; processing the second error according to the second error guide, the displaying the second error guide including displaying a common procedure in the first and second error guides. With this, an error guide integrating a common procedure to a plurality of errors occurring from the image forming apparatus efficiently processes the error and reduces waste of time.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus through which a user inputs characters using a rotatable search wheel. The image forming apparatus includes a display unit to display a character set in order to input characters, a search wheel, which is able to rotate, to search for characters to be input from the displayed character set while being rotated, an input button to select the characters searched by the search wheel and to input the selected characters, and a control unit to display on the display unit characters selected from the displayed character set according to a rotation direction of the search wheel. Therefore, it is possible to input characters more conveniently and rapidly.

Abstract: A job performing method of an image forming apparatus which includes a touch screen making a handwriting input available, the method including displaying a handwriting input window in a part of an initial screen displayed on the touch screen and making a user's handwriting input available; inputting a handwriting by the user in the displayed handwriting input window; comparing the input handwriting with a prestored job; and performing the prestored job by the image forming apparatus according to the comparison result. Abstract: A host apparatus connected to an image forming apparatus, an image forming system including the same and a modifying method of a background for the image forming apparatus, the modifying method including: receiving identification (ID) information of at least one image forming apparatus; determining whether to modify the background by the host apparatus with at least one ID information; and transmitting at least one modifiable background corresponding to at least one image forming apparatus if a modification of the background is to be performed. Thus, the host apparatus connected to the image forming apparatus to determine whether to modify a background according to ID information of the image forming apparatus, transmit the modifiable background to at least one image forming apparatus according to the result can save time and costs as well as providing convenience to a user.
