  • Patent number: 7791769
Abstract: A method for providing a film image and an image display apparatus for providing the film image are provided. The method includes determining a scheme of an input image signal; if the input image signal is determined to be an interlaced image signal, converting the input image signal into a progressive image signal to generate a converted progressive image signal and converting a scanning rate the converted progressive image signal to generate an image signal having a selected scanning rate; if the input image signal is determined to be a progressive image signal, converting a scanning rate the input progressive image signal to generate the image signal having the selected scanning rate; and converting a color characteristic of the image signal having the selected scanning rate into an image signal having a color characteristic related to a selected type of a film. Accordingly, a general image can be viewed which has a similar effect to when a film image is projected on a screen.

  • Patent number: 6664459
Abstract: A music file recording/reproducing module is mounted in a module rack of an audio/video (AV) system capable of reproducing input audio data, and receives audio data encoded by a predetermined encoding method, decodes the received audio data, and sends the decoded audio data to the AV system. By doing so, a music file is received from an outside source, is stored, and is decoded so that the received music file can be reproduced. That is, the music file recording/reproducing module causes the AV system to receive various music files, such as an MP3 file transmitted through the Internet, and to store and reproduce the music files. The module comprises a communications interface unit for receiving encoded audio data, a decoder for decoding the encoded audio data, and a control unit for sending the decoded audio data to the AV system. An audio reading unit, an audio writing unit, and an audio storage unit are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20020008779
Abstract: An audio/video (A/V) system and function-extending modules therefor are provided. The A/V system has a module rack, in which the function-extending modules are detachably inserted, and a base module. Each of the function-extending module sends and receives A/V data and stores control information for controlling itself. The base module receives the control information from the function-extending modules mounted in the module rack and displays the control information. If a user input according to the displayed control information is received, the base module sends the user input to a corresponding function-extending module and reproduces source A/V data provided by the function-extending module in response to the sent user input. By doing so, the A/V system in which a plurality of digital media is implemented is provided.
