  • Patent number: 8070679
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for accurate determination of intraocular pressure (IOP) and characterization of mechanical properties of a cornea is provided that includes measuring a cornea with a probe tonometer to produce at least force versus displacement data over a range of applied forces; and forming a model of corneal constitutive parameters, with a computer having a processor, based on the data obtained by the probe tonometer to more accurately determine IOP and characterize mechanical properties of the cornea, wherein the computer is coupled with the probe tonometer.

  • Patent number: 7615248
Abstract: Provided are a method for preparing a blue-emitting BAM phosphor which includes: surface-treating phosphor particles with metal oxide nanoparticles, and a blue-emitting BAM phosphor prepared by the method. The blue-emitting BAM phosphor exhibits better dispersibility and flowability in coating slurry without undergoing a reduction in initial brightness, thereby providing less color variation at ends of a BLU lamp. The blue-emitting BAM phosphor can be directly applied in a currently available method of manufacturing a BLU lamp, and when mixed with existing red and green phosphors, can remarkably reduce color variation at ends of a lamp. Therefore, the quality of a BLU lamp for large-scale displays can be greatly improved.

  • Publication number: 20090129282
Abstract: Provided are a method and an apparatus for periodically measuring speech quality in a voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) terminal while a VoIP call between VoIP terminals is in progress. The method comprises: receiving summary information regarding traffic sent from an opposite VoIP terminal; and evaluating speech quality by comparing the summary information with actually received information regarding the traffic sent from the opposite VoIP. Accordingly, each VoIP terminal can precisely evaluate the speech quality periodically and send the evaluation result to each other.

  • Patent number: 7473408
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparing single crystalline cerium oxide nanopowder capable of easily controlling the shape and granularity of particles. The method includes preparing cerium hydroxide by precipitating a cerium salt in the presence of a solvent mixture of organic solvent and water and hydrothermally reacting the prepared cerium hydroxide. The prepared single crystalline cerium oxide has a particle size of not less than about 30 nm and an excellent degree of dispersion.

  • Publication number: 20050179009
Abstract: Provided are a novel blue BAM phosphor and a preparation method thereof. In the blue-emitting phosphor, a magnetoplumbite phase is epitaxially formed as a protection film on the ?-phase of a blue BAM phosphor. The blue-emitting phosphor has high luminosity and broad color gamut, is invulnerable to mechanical damage, and can create uniform images, and thus, is very useful in fabrication of a high quality plasma display panel.
