  • Patent number: 11031887
Abstract: A motor control device includes: a storage configured to store reference Lissajous values; and a controller configured to apply an excitation signal to a resolver; receive an output signal output from the resolver, to obtain a Lissajous value corresponding to the received output signal, to determine that an external noise is input when the obtained Lissajous value is different from the reference Lissajous values, and to control driving of a motor based on the obtained Lissajous value when the obtained Lissajous value is equal to any one of the reference Lissajous values. A vehicle having the motor control device may further include a battery configured to transmit power to the motor and to be charged by regenerative braking of the motor.

  • Patent number: 9306489
Abstract: A method and system for controlling a vehicle motor are provided. The system includes an inverter that controls the motor to receive a torque command from an external system and output a torque based on the torque command. Additionally, a current command is generated based on the torque command and a operation condition of the motor. A voltage command is generated to be applied to the motor based on the current command and the operation condition of the motor. A pulse width modulation (PWM) command is generated based on the voltage command and the operation condition of the motor. The PWM command is converted to a voltage in a PWM form based on the motor operation condition and is applied to the motor. Then, an unwanted torque output of the motor generated based on a nonlinear characteristic of the motor is added and subtracted to and from the torque command.

  • Publication number: 20150180387
Abstract: A motor controller includes a variable controller, a current controller and an electric power module. The variable controller is configured to receive a torque command, a position of a rotor of a motor, and a motor rotation speed, change a first axis current command and a second axis current command according to variation of the position of the rotor of the motor, and output the first axis current command and the second axis current command. The current controller is configured to transform the first axis current command and second axis current command to a first axis voltage command and a second axis voltage command, respectively. The electric power module is configured to provide the first axis voltage command and second axis voltage command, modulated by pulse width modulation.

  • Publication number: 20150153400
Abstract: A system and method of detecting disconnection of a power cable of a motor that includes measuring, by a controller, a plurality of phase currents supplied to a motor via a power cable from an inverter and transforming the plurality of phase currents to a stationary reference frame to obtain a first axis current of the synchronous reference frame and a second axis current of the synchronous reference frame. In addition, the method includes calculating, by the controller, a cable open factor using the first axis current of the stationary reference frame and the second axis current of the stationary reference frame and detecting disconnection of the power cable using the cable open factor.

  • Patent number: 8884556
Abstract: A system for controlling a motor of a vehicle that improves fuel economy by minimizing a sum of heat generated by the motor and heat generated by a converter, is disclosed. More specifically, a power source supplies DC electricity; a converter selectively receives and converts the DC electricity of the power source into inverter input voltage. A relay module selectively connects the power source to the converter and an inverter module receives the inverter input voltage from the converter, converts the inverter input voltage into 3-phase AC current, and supplies the 3-phase AC current to the motor. Further, a controller controls operations of the converter, the relay module, and the inverter module, to perform to minimize the inverter input voltage that is a sum of heat generated due to the flux-weakening control and heat generated due to suppression of the flux-weakening control.
