  • Patent number: 10450225
Abstract: The present invention relates to a glass having a surface with improved water-repellency or hydrophobicity and low reflectance, and a fabrication method thereof. A technology is employed, in which a thin film containing silicon or silicon oxide is formed on the glass surface, the nano-structures are formed by selective etching treatment using a reactive gas such as CF4 or the like to provide superhydrophobicity and low reflectance properties, and a material with low surface energy is coated onto the nano-structures. The fabrication method of the low-reflective and superhydrophobic or super water-repellent glass may execute deposition and etching processes for the glass having the superhydrophobicity and the low reflectance, and provide excellent superhydrophobicity and low reflectance to the surface of the glass which was difficult to be treated. Also, the method is sustainable due to non-use of a toxic etching solution during these processes.

  • Patent number: 10451530
Abstract: Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) gas isotherm techniques to evaluate wettability of porous media, such as hydrocarbon reservoir rock, can include constructing a NMR gas isotherm curve for a porous media sample gas adsorption under various pressures. A hydrophobic or hydrophilic nature of the porous media sample can be determined using the NMR gas isotherm curves. A wettability of the porous media sample can be determined based on the NMR gas isotherm curve. The wettability can be determined for porous media samples with different pore sizes. In the case of reservoir rock samples, the determined wettability can be used, among other things, to model the hydrocarbon reservoir that includes such rock samples, to simulate fluid flow through such reservoirs, or to model enhanced hydrocarbon recovery from such reservoirs.

  • Patent number: 10453703
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a method to recover the gate oxide integrity yield of a silicon wafer after rapid thermal anneal in an ambient atmosphere comprising a nitrogen containing gas, such as NH3 or N2. Generally, rapid thermal anneals in an ambient atmosphere comprising a nitrogen containing gas, such as NH3 or N2 to thereby imprint an oxygen precipitate profile can degrade the GOI yield of a silicon wafer by exposing as-grown crystal defects (oxygen precipitate) and vacancies generated by the silicon nitride film. The present invention restores GOI yield by stripping the silicon nitride layer, which is followed by wafer oxidation, which is followed by stripping the silicon oxide layer.

  • Patent number: 10453388
Abstract: An electronic device may be provided with a display. A content generator may generate frames of image data to be displayed on the display. The display may have an array of pixels that emit light to display images. The pixels may contain light-emitting devices such as organic light-emitting diodes, quantum dot light-emitting diodes, and light-emitting diodes formed from discrete semiconductor dies. As a result of aging, the light producing capabilities of the light-emitting devices may degrade over time. The electronic device may have a temperature sensor that gathers temperature measurements and an ambient light sensor. A pixel luminance degradation compensator may apply compensation factors to uncorrected pixel luminance values associated with the frames of image data to produce corresponding corrected pixel luminance values for the display. The compensation factors may be based on aging history information such as pixel luminance history, ambient light exposure, and temperature measurements.
