Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus which can reduce the possibility of collision with other frames when transmitting a broadcast/multicast frame in a wireless local area network (LAN) following a Distributed Coordination Function (DCF) rule, thereby ensuring reliable transmission. The wireless communication method for sending or receiving a predetermined frame through contention between an access point and one or more stations according to DCF is characterized in that the access point uses the shortest of interframe space (IFS) intervals for access to a wireless medium. Therefore, when wireless LAN STAs operate in a DCF mode, the possibility of collision during broadcast or multicast frame transmission can be reduced while adopting conventional CSMA/CA mechanism, thereby improving reliability in successful frame transmission.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for transmitting data in a wireless network employing an access point. Each transmission opportunity for transmitting data between the access point and each station is set by using channel state information and traffic state information in relation to stations existing in the same communication area with the access point in a wireless network employing the access point, so that overheads can be reduced and a data processing amount can be improved.

Abstract: A wireless LAN communication control method includes (a) verifying whether data remains in a queue of a Point Coordinator (PC) after a Contention-Free Period (CFP) is terminated; and (b) transmitting the data remaining in the queue of the PC in advance, i.e., before entering a contention mode, in a case that the data remains in the queue as a result of the verification. Accordingly, the data sent from each station to the PC is preferentially transmitted to a destination station without contentions so that an overall system performance is improved.
