  • Publication number: 20050195732
Abstract: An apparatus and method for transmitting a processing result on a received data frame in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) mobile communication system. The method includes selecting an orthogonal codeword corresponding to the processing result among predetermined orthogonal codewords, and transmitting the selected orthogonal codeword through at least one subcarrier group assigned for transmitting the processing result. A length of the orthogonal codeword is determined according to a number of symbol units included in the subcarrier group, and the predetermined orthogonal codewords are orthogonal with each other.

  • Publication number: 20050197132
Abstract: A method for allocating a frequency to a subscriber station (SS) in handover operation in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) system. In the method, the SS checks safety channel frequencies for a target base station (BS), generates a safety channel frequency request message for requesting allocation of the checked safety channel frequencies, and transmits the safety channel frequency request message. Upon receiving the safety channel frequency request message from the SS, a serving BS allocates frequencies for a requested channel, and transmits an allocation message with the frequency allocation information to the SS. The serving BS transmits a channel allocation request message to the target BS according to the frequency allocation information. Upon receiving the channel allocation request message, the target BS allocates the safety channel frequencies to the SS.

  • Publication number: 20050069065
Abstract: A device and method for measuring power of a received broadband signal including narrowband interference in a mobile communication system is provided. An interference eliminator removes the narrowband interference from the received broadband signal through a filter. A power compensator calculates a compensation value for compensating for at least one portion of the received signal removed when the narrowband interference was removed. A received power measurement unit measures power of the received signal received from the interference eliminator, and compensates for a measurement error in the measured power due to the removed at least one portion using the compensation value, and then outputs the received broadband signal having the compensated power.

  • Publication number: 20030054851
Abstract: An apparatus and method for maximizing the efficiency of a power amplifier by reducing the PAPR of a BS in a mobile communication system. A power controller between I and Q channel pulse shaping filters and a frequency converter calculates cancellation signals for signal pulses that increase the PAPR at each sampling period, pulse-shape-filters cancellation signals at the highest levels among the cancellation signals, and adds the filtered cancellation signals to the original signals. Thus, spectral regrowth outside a signal frequency band is suppressed. In the case of a system supporting multiple frequency allocations, the PAPR is controlled for each FA according to its service class. Therefore, minimum system performance is ensured and power use efficiency is increased.

  • Publication number: 20030009515
Abstract: A system and method for networking home appliances through a multinetwork structure, wherein the home appliances are connected directly or indirectly to a network constructed through a LAN line or power line communication network in a home such that they are operated according to algorithms of different coding/decoding levels. The home appliances construct different networks so that they are efficiently interoperable in the entire network. Therefore, even though an external intruder intrudes into any one of the different networks, information of home appliances connected to the other networks can be prevented from leaking out, thereby avoiding security risks.

  • Publication number: 20020171533
Abstract: A method for transmitting and receiving messages in a home appliance networking system, wherein a first home appliance connected to a network appends a unique message identification number to a header of a message and transmits the resulting message to a second home appliance connected to the network. Messages transmitted and received among a plurality of home appliances can be distinguished from one another, resulting in a reduction in message transfer errors. Moreover, as needed, a group code corresponding to a specific group of home appliances may be appended to a transmitter message for control of the specific group so that the home appliances can be conveniently and efficiently controlled at one time.
