The robot includes a body, a display device, and at least one bending device. The display device includes a recognition unit to rotate about the body according to the position of the user. The recognition unit detects a position of a user. The bending device couples the body with the display device such that the body and the display device rotate frontward, rearward, clockwise, or counterclockwise according to a detection state of the recognition unit.

Abstract: A multilingual dialogue system enabling a user to conduct dialogue in various languages, and a controlling method thereof. According to the multilingual dialogue system and the controlling method, reliability of the user's language can be evaluated, thereby coping with errors generated during dialogue.

Abstract: A multimodal system and an input processing method thereof are disclosed. The multimodal system includes a pre-constructed input combination constructing unit and an input combination selection unit for selecting an input combination corresponding to an input signal from a user or a sensor. The system performs learning for selecting an input combination from the pre-constructed input combinations. The system provides available input combinations due to this learning, resulting in high satisfaction with the processed result.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a robot capable of recovering from a failure of one of a plurality of symmetrically structured modules, and a recovery method thereof. When a hardware or software failure occurs, the robot recovers by itself by replacing the failed module with another corresponding module. Accordingly, resources of the robot can be more efficiently utilized.

Abstract: A system to provide various content services based on a network to users includes a service provider to provide a service using the network, a user to receive the service, and a service framework to provide the service to the user through the network. The service framework includes a messenger device that manages the service transmitted between the service provider and the user. Content services, which are being provided based on a network, can be provided to various terminals including not only a PC and a mobile phone, but also a robot. Thus, extending services is easy and the user can conveniently receive desired information from a knowledge provider or website without performing repetitive operations.

A beam projection apparatus includes an actuator module being operable to move the beam projection apparatus, a beam projector being operable to project images, and a control module being operable to search surrounding structures around the beam projection apparatus and select a plane portion of the surrounding structures as a screen, to control the actuator module to move the beam projection apparatus for image display on the selected plane portion, and to control the beam projector to project the images on the selected plane portion.

Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus and method which contains a particular date preset by a user and several groups of particular information, each group relating to a pre-specified date difference between the preset date and current date, and automatically displays a group of information corresponding to current date difference. The apparatus according to the present invention comprises a nonvolatile memory for storing information corresponding to date differences, a timing unit for tracking current time and date, a control unit for calculating the date difference between the preset date and current date and reading out information depending upon the date difference from the memory, a ROM storing an execution program, a font ROM storing display fonts, a LCD control unit, a LCD panel, an audio signal generation unit, and a beeper.
