  • Publication number: 20080286978
Abstract: An etch method includes etching a masked substrate to form a recess with a first sidewall in the substrate. A thin surface layer of the substrate on the first sidewall is then converted into a passivation layer. The masked substrate is etched again to deepen the recess in the substrate. A surface layer of the substrate on the second sidewall of the recess is then converted into a passivation layer. In one embodiment, upon removal of the passivation layers from both sidewalls, the first and second sidewalls of the high aspect ratio recess are aligned to within 10 ? of each other to provide a high aspect ratio recess having a vertical profile.

  • Patent number: 7440435
Abstract: A divided Media Access Control (MAC) protocol structure, a data transmission and reception method, and a handover method and system using the structure in a wireless communication system for efficiently managing session information in handover of an MSS (Mobile Subscriber Station). In the MAC protocol structure, a MAC is divided into a MAC-high layer and a MAC-low layer. The MAC-high layer performs session information-related functions and the MAC-low layer performs functions sensitive to a time delay in relation to handover of an MSS. In the handover method, when an MSS in the wireless communication system performs handover between Access Points (APs), session information is managed at a fixed position by an Access Point Controller (APC) including an MAC-high layer or a serving AP. Therefore, the system load can be reduced and communication quality can be improved.

  • Publication number: 20080206900
Abstract: A pulsed plasma system for etching semiconductor structures is described. In one embodiment, a portion of a sample is removed by applying a pulsed plasma process, wherein the pulsed plasma process comprises a plurality of duty cycles. The ON state of a duty cycle is of a duration sufficiently short to substantially inhibit micro-loading in a reaction region adjacent to the sample, while the OFF state of the duty cycle is of a duration sufficiently long to substantially enable removal of a set of etch by-products from the reaction region. In another embodiment, a first portion of a sample is removed by applying a continuous plasma process. The continuous plasma process is then terminated and a second portion of the sample is removed by applying a pulsed plasma process.

  • Publication number: 20080206901
Abstract: A pulsed plasma system with pulsed reaction gas replenish for etching semiconductor structures is described. In an embodiment, a portion of a sample is removed by applying a pulsed plasma etch process. The pulsed plasma etch process comprises a plurality of duty cycles, wherein each duty cycle represents the combination of an ON state and an OFF state of a plasma. The plasma is generated from a reaction gas, wherein the reaction gas is replenished during the OFF state of the plasma, but not during the ON state. In another embodiment, a first portion of a sample is removed by applying a continuous plasma etch process. The continuous plasma etch process is then terminated and a second portion of the sample is removed by applying a pulsed plasma etch process having pulsed reaction gas replenish.

  • Patent number: 7330487
Abstract: A method and apparatus for supporting a variety of service types in a CDMA2000 1xEV-DO mobile telecommunication system for high-speed data service in a radio communication environment. To receive multiple services according to a plurality of service types, an AT establishes a connection for the data service with a PDSN and configures a session for setting the plurality of service types having different traffic characteristics by the connection. The AT generates a plurality of service instances for the different service types according to the session configuration. It then exchanges data streams with the PDSN in a service instance corresponding to a currently provided service among the plurality of service instances.
