Abstract: A control method for shortening a start time of an electric vehicle quickly removes electricity remaining in a system without adding a separate component. The control method includes comparing a DC-link voltage in an inverter for driving a driving motor with a first reference value in a state in which the connection between a main battery and a vehicle system is released; checking a remaining voltage in the vehicle system and comparing the checked remaining voltage with a second reference value, when the DC-link voltage in the inverter is no less than the first reference value; removing the remaining voltage by operating an electric load in the vehicle so as to consume remaining electricity in the vehicle system, when the remaining voltage is no less than the second reference value; and connecting the main battery to the vehicle system by turning on a pre-charge relay and a main relay.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an adaptive scan apparatus and a method for scanning thereof. The adaptive scan apparatus includes a zero coefficient counter and a scan pattern updater. The scan pattern updater is configured to generate a zero counter corresponding to a prediction mode of a neighboring block of a current block and to update the zero counter corresponding to a position where a coefficient value of the current block is 0 for transformed and quantized data. And the scan pattern updater is configured to update a scan pattern by sequentially arranging generated zero counters updated for the current block from a position of a small value to a position of a large value.

Abstract: In a video encoding and/or decoding apparatus and/or method, a video encoder partitions a reference image predicted block-wise with at least a filter into blocks in at least one layer, sets a partitioning flag to indicate whether each of the partitioned blocks is subdividable into sub-blocks, sets a filter type to indicate which filter was used for interpolating each of the blocks or sub-blocks, and quadtree-encodes the partitioning flag and the filter type together with the corresponding block or sub-block to generate a quadtree-encoded bitstream. A video decoder reads the partitioning flags and the filter types from the quadtree-encoded bitstream to reconstruct the partitioning flags and the filter types for the corresponding blocks or sub-blocks, generates the blocks or sub-blocks based on the corresponding partitioning flags, and interpolates the generated blocks or sub-blocks on the basis of the corresponding filter types to reconstruct the reference image.

In an operation of the dishwasher, air of a washing chamber is heated by a heater and, at a same time, water is fed into the washing chamber. Therefore, kitchen utensils and the water contained in the washing chamber are heated by heat exchanged from the heated air. Since the dishwasher primarily heats the air having a relatively lower specific heat and, thereafter, heats the water having a relatively higher specific heat by the heat of the heated air to produce hot water, the dishwasher reduces time consumption and improves an energy efficiency of the dishwasher during a dishwashing operation, and lengthens a life span of the heater.

A handle is provided at an upper portion of the rack so that both ends of the handle are rotatably mounted to both sides of the rack, thus allowing the rack to be easily moved upward.
