Abstract: A network bridge device for controlling IEEE 1394 bus reset includes an interface for receiving information relating to devices belonging to a foreign cluster, from the foreign cluster; and a controller for determining whether to reset a bus of a local cluster by comparing the received information with pre-stored information. Accordingly, the bus reset storming between the clusters can be prevented by selectively executing the bus reset of the cluster.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for structuring IP identification packets and allotting IP addresses. The apparatus includes a IP control unit which reads out an IP address of a predetermined device contained in the IP identification packet, and determines if it is identical to IP address of the device that received the IP identification packet, and an IP-allotting unit which re-allots an IP address of the device that received the IP identification packet when the read IP address and the IP address of the device that received the IP identification packet are identical.

Abstract: An apparatus and a method for acquiring identification information when a bus reset occurs are provided. The apparatus and the method for acquiring identification information when a bus reset occurs to control a slave device without an error by acquiring the new identification information (e.g., a PHY ID) by adjusting the power state of a slave device when a bus reset occurs in slave devices existing in an IEEE 1394 A/V network, and to reduce the power consumption by changing the power state to the power-standby state after acquiring the basic information of the slave device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus of providing a time shift function in an audio/video (A/V) network are provided. The method of providing the time shift function includes restoring broadcast content of received broadcast signals; transmitting the restored broadcast content to a content output apparatus; transmitting the restored broadcast content to a content storage apparatus; and interrupting the transmission of the broadcast content to the content output apparatus if the time shift function is requested.
