Patent number: 8014349Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving signals in a communication system. A base station allocates a quasi-dedicated control channel (QDCCH) to a first mobile station (MS), and allocates the QDCCH allocated to the first MS, to a second MS for a preset time. An MS receives a QDCCH allocated from the base station. If there is data to transmit to the base station, the MS determines whether the QDCCH is allocated to another MS different from the MS. If it is determined that the QDCCH is allocated to the MS itself, the MS transmits the data to the base station over the QDCCH.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2006Date of Patent: September 6, 2011Assignees: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST)Inventors: Tae-Soo Kwon, Chi-Hyun Park, Sang-Boh Yun, Dong-Ho Cho, Ju-Yeop Kim, Ho-Won Lee, O-Hyun Jo, Sik Choi

Patent number: 7636570Abstract: A method quickly resuming a downlink service in a hard handover in a cellular mobile communication system. To provide the fast downlink service to an MS during a hard handover from an OBS to an NBS, the NBS receives handover user information from the OBS, and generates an MS temporary ID using the handover user information to identify the MS. If user data is generated for the MS before a connection is established for traffic transmission between the MS and the NBS, the NBS transmits the user data to the MS on an HCCH using the MS temporary ID.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2004Date of Patent: December 22, 2009Assignees: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST)Inventors: Dong-Ho Cho, Pil-Yong Hwang, In-Sun Lee, Chi-Hyun Park, Ae-Ri Lim, Ki-Hyun Pyun, Gyung-Ho Hwang, Ki-Ho Lee, Tae-Soo Kwon

Publication number: 20070153724Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for enhancing the link performance of a multicast service for UEs in a wireless system. In the method, multicast data received in an Nth frame is recovered using systematic packets. When the recovery fails, parity packets are received in an (N+1)th frame and are used to recover the multicast data. When the recovery fails again, an autonomous handover is performed to receive parity packets from a neighboring cell or sector, which are used to recover and the multicast data.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 3, 2007Publication date: July 5, 2007Applicants: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD., Korea Advanced Institute of Science and TechnologyInventors: Jung-Hoon Cheon, Sung-Hyun Cho, Dong-Ho Cho, Tae-Soo Kwon, Ju-Yeop Kim, Ho-Won Lee, O-Hyun Jo, Sik Choi
