The lifting element is attachable to a frame of the drum and extending in the longitudinal direction of the drum. The lifting element includes a flexible body and a wear protection element located in the leading edge of the body with respect to the direction of rotation of the drum. The wear protection element includes at least two different parts manufactured of different materials having toughness and hardness different from each other.
