  • Publication number: 20060203485
Abstract: The present invention discloses a backlight button assemblage including an opaque button, a light-guiding element, and a light-emitting element. The light-emitting element is disposed under the button and a light emitted from the light-emitting element is guided to the front side of the button via the light-guiding element surrounding the button. Via the light-guiding ability of the light-guiding element and redisposing the light-emitting element, the present invention enables the light to be evenly distributed over the light-guiding element and to achieve the objective of light uniformity so that the partial dazzling spots are avoided, the quantity of light-emitting elements is reduced, and fabrication cost is saved.

  • Publication number: 20060065809
Abstract: A foundation module is described. The foundation module is utilized in an apparatus, e.g. a projector or the like, that requires a stable working condition. The foundation module includes a base, a wing support, and a linkage. The wing support horizontally extends out of the base to support the apparatus with the operation of the linkage. The wing support can automatically extend from the base to increase the supporting area for the apparatus to work more stable when the apparatus is operating. The wing support can be stored in the base to save the space of the apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20050228195
Abstract: A method and apparatus for purifying carboxylic acids is disclosed. A mixture containing crude carboxylic acid is contacted with a selective crystallization solvent to form a slurry of a salt complex of the carboxylic acid and the selective crystallization solvent. The salt complex is recovered and optionally processed to recover the free carboxylic acid. The method and apparatus of the invention is particularly suitable for purifying aromatic dicarboxylic acids such as terephthalic acid. The present invention also reduces contamination by carboxybenaldehyde isomers in crude phthalic acids by oxidizing the carboxybenzaldehyde to the corresponding phthalic acid.

  • Patent number: 6903104
Abstract: The invention is based on the discovery that certain 3-oxoacetamideindolyl compounds have potent anticancer and anti-angiogenic activity. The 3-oxoacetamideindolyl compounds are of the following formula. In this formula, each R1 is independently isoxazolyl, thiazolyl, isothiazolyl, 1,3,4-thiadiazolyl, 1,3-benzothiazolyl, quinolyl, isoquinolyl, thionaphthenyl, or benzofuranyl, each being optionally substituted with 1-6 independent R5; or when taken together with R2 and the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form a 5-8 membered ring comprising C, N, S, or O atoms wherein any atom is optionally substituted with an independent R5. Each R2 is independently H, C1-C10 alkyl, or aryl, each being optionally substituted with 1-4 independent R5; or when taken together with R1 and the nitrogen atom to which they are attached form a 5-8 membered ring comprising C, N, S, or O atoms wherein any atom is optionally substituted with an independent R5.

  • Patent number: 6780423
Abstract: An adhesive-resisting skin treatment agent for PVC gloves is produced when the glove mold is soaked in a PVC or PVC polymer and a plastisol to form a film after cooling. The gloves are soaked in a polymer adhesive-resisting treatment solution primarily consisting of chitin, trioctanoin, an aqueous polyester resin and an aerosol mixed in a certain proportion. The capillary and the surface of the film on the gloves can absorb such solution and is evenly coated with a film. Thereafter, the gloves are cooled and their edges are rolled up and detached from the mold. The inner surface of the coating has a protective film and gives a soft, smooth, and comfortable feeling to the wearer's hand when such inner surface is in contact with the hand.
