Abstract: A motorcycle in which a rear fender for covering a rear wheel is mounted on a rear frame including a pair of right and left seat rails for supporting a rider's seat, and a battery is contained in a portion, covered with the seat, of the rear fender, includes the wiring of a wire harness without exerting any effect on the width and height of the seat. A rear fender integrally includes a pair of right and left side plates and a bottom plate for connecting lower ends of the side plates to each other, and a battery containing portion for containing a battery is formed in the rear fender in such a manner so as to be spaced inwardly from the side plates. A pair of right and left wiring grooves are formed in the rear fender at positions between the battery containing portion and the side plates in such a manner as to be covered, from above, with portions of seat rails disposed between the battery containing portion and the side plates.

Abstract: A fuel supply unit for a vehicle includes a fuel tank, a fuel pump for providing a fuel supply system of the vehicle with fuel introduced from the fuel tank via a strainer disposed therein, a fuel return pipe for returning surplus fuel from the fuel supply system to the fuel tank and a spongy fuel-adsorbing member disposed between the strainer end a tip of the fuel return pipe.

Abstract: A motorcycle provided with a central trunk and left and right trunks at the rear portion of the vehicle body. The vehicle body frame of this motorcycle is composed of a main vehicle body frame at the front and a rear vehicle body frame that can be detachably mounted to this main vehicle body frame. The rear vehicle body frame constitutes a trunk assembly jointly with a central trunk, a left trunk, a right trunk and other equipments such as lamps, and after the above-mentioned trunk assembly has been formed preliminarily as one unit outside of a main assembly line, it is detachably mounted to the main vehicle body frame on the main assembly line. Accordingly, the work on the main assembly line becomes little and simple, and a productivity is improved. Upon replacement of a rear wheel tire, it is only necessary to dismount the entire trunk assembly together with the rear vehicle body frame without individually dismounting a large number of equipments.

Abstract: A motorcycle organization is described in which audio speaker equipment is conveniently housed in armrests associated with the vehicle rear seat, which armrests are integrally formed on the closure cover of a trunk disposed rearwardly of the rear seat.

Abstract: A locking arrangement is described that is particularly adapted for use on motorcycles having plural storage containers and that includes a key-actuated locking device and latch release operators disposed in a central location and remote from the container latching mechanisms. The locking device is operative in one position to enable release of the latching mechanisms on the respective storage containers by each associate operator and in another position to prevent such enablement.

Abstract: A rear structure for a motor cycle having a driver's seat and a rear rider's seat, comprises a rear trunk for receiving therein articles, a pair of armrests for bearing rear driver's elbows in a natural posture. The rear trunk includes a backrest for bearing at least a part of the rear driver's back. The armrests are provided independently of said rear trunk. In addition, various utility containers are provided in the rear structure.
