Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a safe and effective central nerve-activating composition, The present invention provides a central nerve-activating composition comprising, as an active ingredient, 2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)chromenylium-3,5,7-triol, 2-(3,4,5-trihydroxylphenyl)chromenylium-3,5,7-triol, or a compound in which 2 to 15 molecules of (2R,3R)-2-(3,4-dthydroxyphenyl)-3,4-dihydro-2H-chromene-3,5,7-triol are condensed by a 4??8 bond, or a salt, hydrate, solvate or polymorph thereof, wherein the central nerve-activating composition adjusts autonomic nerve activity via production of superoxide and/or hydrogen peroxide.
