  • Patent number: 8272750
Abstract: A projection-type image display apparatus that projects an image onto a screen and includes a laser light source, an optical engine, a projection lens, and a control unit. The laser light source includes a plurality of light source units that respectively emit laser beams of different wavelengths. The optical engine combines the laser beams received from the light source and forms an image. An optical sensor is arranged in the optical engine to detect a physical property of a uniformly-scattered laser beam and outputs a physical property signal indicative of the detected physical property to the control unit. The control unit controls output powers of the light source units based on the physical property signal.

  • Patent number: 7673731
Abstract: A two-way clutch has a rotational driving unit, a rotational driven unit, a roller interposed between the rotational driven unit and a collar, which is a fixed member and is not rotatable. A recess is formed in an inner peripheral surface of the collar, so that the roller is engaged with the recess. As a result, a locked condition between the rotational driven unit and the collar by means of the roller is not easily released. Therefore, the rotational driven unit is stably held at its locked position, even when a high vibration, a high load and/or a large pulsation is applied to the rotational driven unit.

  • Patent number: 7219640
Abstract: In a variable air induction apparatus, a valve element is switched between one side to open a first air intake passage and close a second air intake passage, and the other side to open the second air intake passage and to close the first air intake passage. The first air intake passage and the second air intake passage have lengths different from each other. The valve element is fixed on a shaft member to rotate integrally with the shaft. A driving device applies a driving force to rotate the shaft member. An urging device urges the shaft member to rotate the valve element to be switched to any one of the one side and the other side.

  • Patent number: 7143743
Abstract: The throttle position corresponding to the rotational angle of the throttle valve is calculated based on electric signals output from a rotor position detector constituted by three Hall ICs that detect the rotational position of a magnet rotor of a brushless DC motor. A valve position control quantity of the throttle valve is so calculated as to eliminate the difference between the thus calculated valve position and a target valve position. The motor current control quantity of the brushless DC motor is so determined as to eliminate the difference between the calculated valve position and the target valve position. Though the throttle position sensor is omitted, the electric signals output from the rotor position detector are used for calculating both the valve position control quantity and the motor current control quantity.
