  • Patent number: 4212264
Abstract: Apparatus for supplying electrophotographic developer to an electrophotographic developing device is disclosed. The developer supply apparatus includes a cartridge containing therein an amount of developer and supported within the housing of the supply apparatus in a manner that the cartridge is allowed to move rotationally and reciprocally around and along its axis. The cartridge has an opening at its one end and also a plural number of ribs provided within the cartridge. During the movement of the cartridge, the ribs stir the developer contained in the cartridge and also cause the developer to move toward the opening. The cartridge is brought into motion responding to a supply signal so as to effect a supply of developer from the cartridge to the developing device.

  • Patent number: 4116561
Abstract: A copying apparatus having a changeable copying magnification is provided with focusing lens means having a variable focal length positionally fixed as a whole, and optical path length changing means for increasing or reducing the length of the optical path before or behind the focusing lens. An original to be copied and a photosensitive medium are selectively brought into one of a conjugate relationship for forming a life-size image and a conjugate relationship for forming a reduced or a magnified image. Desirably, the optical path length changing means displaces the optic axis in order to register one side edge of the image at different magnifications to a predetermined position on the photosensitive medium.

  • Patent number: 4060323
Abstract: This specification discloses a method and apparatus for imaging light on a medium to form a plurality of information elements which in turn form a particular character or other image information. A plurality of light beams are formed and are modulated by information signals and then the light beams are deflected by scanning means to scan a medium, the beams being modulated in such a manner that the same modulation is applied to a predetermined number of the light beams in accordance with a desired size of the information elements formed on the medium, and wherein the size of the information elements, defined by adjacent rows of identical light spots, is changed by varying the number of light beams receiving the same modulation.
