  • Patent number: 5677817
Abstract: The present invention provides a data cartridge having a cartridge case (1) capable of containing either of two kinds of magnetic tapes differing from each other in width. The data cartridge is provided with a pair of guide rollers (8) for guiding a driving belt ((9) for driving a magnetic tape (5). Each guide roller (8) has a crowned working surface (8a) having a maximum portion having a maximum diameter. The maximum portion is dislocated from a position corresponding to the middle between the opposite ends of the guide roller (8) toward one of the opposite ends by a specific distance. Each guide roller (8) is set in a position in which the maximum portion is below the position corresponding to the middle between the opposite ends when the data cartridge is provided with a first magnetic tape (1/4 in.

  • Patent number: 5239436
Abstract: An improved tape cartridge with increased tape capacity comprises a cartidge housing including a base plate which has two portions. The two portions connect with each other to form at least one corner portion. At least one guide is located adjacent the one corner portion such that the tape web is held out of interference with the one corner portion. A driven roller is positioned such that a straight line drawn through the driven roller passes between axes of rotation of two tape packs mounted on the base plate and extends perpendicular with a straight line extending through the axes of rotation of the tape packs.

  • Patent number: 5206773
Abstract: A magnetic recording disk with a central hub including a core member having a central aperture, a ring member mounted on the core member, a covering member, a leaf spring and a pulse generating member. The ring member includes a recessed portion, a pair of slotted portions for accomodating the leaf spring and a pair of swelled portions extending inwardly toward the central aperture of the core member. The pulse generating member is connected to the core member and extends through the ring member in the direction perpendicular to the surface of the core member so that a tip end of the pulse generating member is projected outwardly from a bottom surface of the recessed portion. When a spindle of a disk driving mechanism is inserted into a central bore of the disk, the axis of a spindle is consistent with the center of rotation of a magnetic recording medium, retained by the combination of the leaf spring and the swelled portions.
