Abstract: A magnetic tape cartridge includes a reel around which a magnetic tape is wound, a cartridge casing accommodating the reel rotatably, a reel locking member, a biasing member, a spider, and a lubricant. The reel locking member includes a convex sliding portion and engages with the reel to block a rotation thereof. The biasing member biases the reel locking member so that the reel locking member engages with the reel. The spider includes a supporting surface that comes into contact with the sliding portion and has a concave portion concaved at substantially the center thereof, and a wall portion that surrounds the supporting surface, the spider pushing and moving the reel locking member against a bias force of the biasing member to release the engagement between the reel locking member and the reel. The lubricant is applied between the sliding portion and the supporting surface.

Abstract: A magnetic tape cartridge which includes a single tape reel on which magnetic tape is wound on the outer peripheral surface of a reel hub thereof, rotatably housed in the inside of a cartridge case; and a reel lock member for inhibiting the rotation of the tape reel, provided movably in an axial direction of the tape reel between a lock position and a lock release position, in the inside of the reel hub; wherein a position restriction rib opposed to the outer periphery of the reel lock member for restricting an axial deviation of the reel lock member from the axial position of the tape reel is formed discontinuously with the inner peripheral surface of the reel hub on the top surface of the bottom of the reel hub in the inside of the reel hub.

Abstract: A disk cartridge includes a shell, a disklike recording medium rotatably accommodated in the shell, and a center core mounted to the disklike recording medium in the center thereof. The center core includes an upper-clearance defining portion which abuts on the upper inner surface of the shell to define an upper clearance between the upper inner surface of the shell and the upper side of the disklike recording medium, and a lower-clearance defining portion which abuts on the lower inner surface of the shell to define a lower clearance between the lower inner surface of the shell and the lower side of the disklike recording medium.

Abstract: A disc cartridge having a disc for recording information signals and a main cartridge body member for rotatably housing the disc. The disc cartridge is designed to be loaded on a recording and/or reproducing apparatus. The main cartridge body member has, on its one surface, a label area for bonding a display label indicating the recording contents of the information signals, while having, on its other surface, a spindle hole for rotating the disc by the recording and/or reproducing apparatus. The main cartridge body member has a design parameter discriminating hole extending along the back side opposite to the front side in the cartridge inserting direction. The recording capacity or design parameters of the disc housed within the main cartridge body member may be discriminated by detecting the design parameter discriminating hole.

Abstract: A tape cassette receiving housing comprises a housing proper portion and a lid portion which is fixed to the housing proper portion through a hinge portion so as to enable to be opened or closed. Shaft portions are formed so as to penetrate into reel driving holes of a supply reel and a take-up reel of a tape cassette received in the housing proper portion. Elastic bodies are attached to outer peripheries of the shaft portions, and the elastic bodies are brought into contact with inner peripheral surfaces of reel driving holes. According to the above construction, a tape cassette is fixed in the tape cassette receiving housing so as not to incline the tape cassette and not to rotate the supply reel and the take-up reel.

Abstract: A recording medium storage cassette includes a cassette housing composed of an upper cassette shell and a lower cassette shell and in which a part of an outer ornamented body of the cassette is formed of a metal plate member made by press-treatment.
