  • Patent number: 5624749
Abstract: An electromagnetic steel sheet has an electrically insulating coating with superior weldability, formed by coating a treatment solution on the electromagnetic steel sheet and baking the same, the treatment solution containing a synthetic resin fine-particle emulsion having resistance against chromic and/or bichromic acid and exhibiting a peak temperature not lower than 400.degree. C. at which a weight change rate is maximized when a sample is heated at a constant rate in differential thermal gravimetry, a chromate and/or bichromate base aqueous solution containing at least one kind of two-valence metal, and an organic reducer. The steel sheet is superior in electrical insulation, adhesion, punching ability, weldability and corrosion resistance.

  • Patent number: 5332779
Abstract: This invention provides polymerizable silica sols in which at least one monomer containing double bond is used as its dispersion medium, especially a silica sol in which the monomer containing double bond is a monomer containing double bond and OH group or is a monomer having an adamantane structure. This invention also provides compositions which comprise these silica sols as composing elements, cured resins that are obtained by polymerizing these silica sols alone or together with other copolymerizable components, and new adamantane derivatives for use in these silica sols.

  • Patent number: 5061575
Abstract: A zinc, zinc alloy or aluminum alloy plated steel strip having chromate coatings on both surfaces is coated with a lubricating resin composition for improving formability and corrosion resistance. In one form, a resin composition including a base resin, silica, a high-melting polyolefin wax and optionally, a low-melting polyolefin wax is applied on both surfaces for improving formability. In a second form, a resin composition including a base resin, silica, and a powder fluoro resin is applied on both surfaces for improving corrosion resistance. In a third form, the chromated steel is coated with a resin composition including a base resin, silica and a solid lubricant on one side and with a resin composition including a base resin and silica on the other side for improving both formability and corrosion resistance.
