Abstract: In a light emitting device including a semiconductor light emitting element; a phosphor to be excited by light emitted from the semiconductor light emitting element; and an encapsulating resin including the phosphor and covering the semiconductor light emitting element, the phosphor included in the encapsulating resin suppresses a specific wavelength component for preventing a photosensitive material sensitive to a specific wavelength from reacting. An illuminating apparatus including a plurality of semiconductor light emitting elements includes a control section for suppressing a specific wavelength for preventing a photosensitive material sensitive to the specific wavelength from reacting. A clean room is equipped with such an illuminating apparatus.
