  • Patent number: 8206231
Abstract: An improved novelty teeth device for use with a user's teeth movable between a first concealed position and a second visible position. The novelty teeth device has a pair of spaced apart tooth wells for receiving the user's teeth. Between the tooth wells is a central lever element that connects and interacts with two rods, each of which is inserted across each tooth well. The other end of each rod is connected to a curve arm. At the distal end of each curve arm is one or more teeth elements. When the central lever element is pivoted up or down, it rotates the rods, which causes the curve arms to move up or down, concealing or revealing the teeth elements, respectively. A moldable putty can be used in the tooth well to improve comfort to the user.

  • Publication number: 20100008900
Abstract: Methods and compositions for treating, detecting, diagnosing or assisting in the diagnosis of an inflammatory or immunological disorder are provided. The authors have made the novel discovery that anti-dsDNA antibodies are reactive to cell surface annexin II and through this interaction, anti-dsDNA antibodies are bound and then internalized and translocated into the cytoplasm and/or nucleus where they mediate altered cellular functions. Compositions that inhibit or interfere with the interaction of annexin II with anti-dsDNA antibodies can be used to treat one or more symptoms or pathological processes of an inflammatory or immunological disorder, preferably an auto-immune disorder. Methods for monitoring the progression or severity of an inflammatory or immunological disorder are also provided.

  • Patent number: 7629633
Abstract: A vertical thin film transistor (TFT) structure allows for a channel length to be scaled down, below that allowed by lateral TFT structures, to nanoscale (i.e., below 100 nm). However, while reducing the channel length, short-channel effects have been found in previous VTFT structures. Aspects of the new vertical TFT structure allow for the suppression of some of the short-channel effects. Advantageously, the capability of defining nanoscale channel length with short-channel effect suppression allows for p-channel vertical TFTs, where previously these were impractical. Furthermore, in aspects of the vertical TFT structure, the gate electrode is entirely vertical and by eliminating the horizontal overlap of the gate electrode over the drain electrode that present in earlier vertical TFT structures, parasitic gate-to-drain capacitance is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 6746065
Abstract: A video display screen is mounted in a recess or cut-out of an armrest within a vehicle. The armrest pivots up and locks in an upright position so that the display screen can be viewed by rear seat passengers, and pivots down so that the display screen can be viewed by the driver or the front seat passenger. The armrest includes a telescoping section so that the display screen can be raised or lowered as desired by the rear seat passengers. The video screen can be switched between being operatively connected to either an entertainment device such as a VCR or DVD player, or to a navigational device The display is pivotally mounted within the armrest both so that it can be tilted for optimal viewing, and so that it can be rotated 180 degrees into a screen-down position when the screen is not being used, the backside of the screen visually blending with the rest of the armrest so that the screen is protected against both theft and incidental damage when not in use.
