  • Patent number: 5760954
Abstract: A reflective type screen has well-balanced properties and is capable of producing a clear image even in a lighted room. The screen has a reflective layer formed on a substrate, a polarizing film layer adhered to the reflective layer through an adhesive layer, and a light diffusion layer on the other side of the polarizing flim layer. The reflective layer preferably consists of a coating layer including a binder resin and aluminum paste and having a glossiness in the range of from 70 to 120% as measured according to JIS-K-7105. The glossiness of the surface of the product, i.e. the screen, is in the range of from 3 to 9%. In the above range of glossiness, the screen exhibits an even luminance and a good SG value.

  • Patent number: 5639415
Abstract: A method of forming a hollow article, wherein all the operations such as shifting and opening/closing of a die are performed by electric actuators such as electric motors which operate in accordance with a program operation, thus improving the quality of the hollow article as the product. A parison extruded from an extruder is introduced into and held in a die which has been opened by the operation of a die compacting motor. A crosshead associated with the extruder is lifted to draw the parison, and a parison cutting motor operates to cut the drawn parison. Thus, fully automatic production is realized to ensure high yield of the product.

  • Patent number: 5463387
Abstract: An optical mouse comprises an illumination system for converging light emitted from a light emitting element to a light pattern of a mouse pad, an image forming system for forming an image of the light pattern on the side of a light receiving element and an aspherical lens having a positive refractive index and formed with an aspherical surface in at least one surface thereof. The aspherical surface is used for the illumination system and/or the image forming system. In a preferred form, the aspherical lens is a single lens made of a synthetic resin for constituting the image forming system and satisfying the following optical conditions:2<.vertline..beta..vertline.<150.2<r.sub.1 .multidot.(n-1)/f-3<K.sub.2 <00.012<NA<0.18where .beta.=a magnificationr.sub.1 : a radius of curvature of a surface of the lens on the mouse pad side;n: the refractive index of lens material in wave length: 950 nm);f: a focal distanceK.sub.2 : a cone coefficient; andNA: the number of apertures.

  • Patent number: 5338173
Abstract: A parison controller of blow molding apparatus for varying the thickness of a parison extruded from an ejection orifice by displacing in an up and down direction a core provided at the ejection orifice of the die of a cross head. The parison controller of blow molding apparatus has a motor through which the core is displaced. It further includes: a rod connected to the core provided at the cross head; a female threaded portion formed on the upper portion of the rod; a rotating rod having a male threaded portion threaded into said female threaded portion; a reduction gear connected to said rotating rod through a thrust bearing; and the motor connected to the reduction gear. Since the core forming the ejection orifice for ejecting the parison is displaced through a motor, a reduction in the size thereof and saving of resources may be achieved and a high quality parison may be obtained as compared with a conventional parison controller which uses a hydraulic system.

  • Patent number: 4647771
Abstract: An optical mouse for inputting a cursor position including first and second line patterns formed on opposite surfaces of a transparent substrate, with the lines of the first and second line patterns being perpendicular. The line patterns are illuminated by a light source in the movable mouse body, which also includes an optical system and detecting elements for separately detecting light reflected from the first and second patterns. Because the first and second line patterns are located at different distances from the optical system, light reflected from the two patterns can be separately focused to prevent interference between the two patterns.

  • Patent number: 4497057
Abstract: A diagnostic monitoring system, for detecting and displaying malfunctions or abnormal operations occurring in various engine operation control computers, includes a microcomputer, actuators and sensors. Each of the engine operation control computers performs a diagnosis program as a part of their control programs and produces a signal whenever a malfunction or abnormal operation is detected. A central supervisory system receives such signals from the engine operation control computers and stores them separately for the individual control computers. A display unit displays the stored signals in response to instructions from the central supervisory system.

  • Patent number: 4497037
Abstract: A copying machine group managing system comprises a plurality of copying machines, a plurality of terminal devices each provided for one of the copying machines and a central managing unit for managing the terminal devices. Each of the terminal devices receives first input signals each indicative of one of a plurality of users divisions of the copying machines and a second input signal indicative of a utilization value of associated one of the copying machines, whereby a second input signal is stored at predetermined storage locations of a terminal data memory in accordance with a first input signal and the stored data signal is transmitted to the central managing unit. The central managing unit receives the cumulatively stored data signals from each of the terminal devices so that the received data signals are summed up separately for each of the users divisions of the copying machines and are stored at the corresponding storage locations of a central data memory.

  • Patent number: 4477874
Abstract: A card-operated system for controlling vehicle components is responsive to a magnetic card exclusively used by a particular user to control actuators associated with the vehicle components such as driver's seat position and the like. In the card is magnetically stored a set of driver's personal drive position data and security data which are read out by a magnetic card reader into a microprocessor-based controller. The controller analyzes the input data to operate the actuators according to the drive position data so that the driver is in an optimum drive position. The security data is also analyzed to identify the card if it represents the vehicle owner's card or a common user's who is authorized by the owner to use the vehicle but not authorized to have an access to a storage place where the owner's personal goods are stored.

  • Patent number: 3970827
Abstract: There is provided an electronic taxi fare meter wherein the tariff travel distance and the tariff travel time of a taxi are converted into pulse signals representing digital quantities, and these pulse signals are increased by a premium fare computing circuit comprising a combination of counters. The premium fare mechanism is thus reduced in size and weight as compared with the conventional mechanisms of the mechanical type, and accurate computation of the fares at premium rates can also be effected for both the tariff travel distance and the tariff travel time of a taxi. Further, the use of the digital techniques makes the apparatus less susceptible to supply voltage variations and ambient temperature changes, makes the designing of the apparatus with integrated circuits possible, and ensures a higher degree of reliability in the operation of the apparatus.
