Patent number: 6305902Abstract: Precision cast hollow stationary blade used for final stage of steam turbine is improved to enhance drain recovery efficiency. Hollows (4, 5), sectioned by rib (6) to be independent of each other, are formed in stationary blade (1) passing therethrough from outer shroud 2 to inner shroud 3. A plurality of ventral slits (10 to 20) are provided on blade surface ventral side linearly with predetermined interval between the slits in two parallel rows. Dorsal slits (21 to 26) are also provided linearly with predetermined interval between the slits. Drain on blade surface enters the hollows (5, 4) through the ventral slits (10 to 20) and the dorsal slits (21 to 26), respectively, and flows out of the outer shroud (2) or the inner shroud (3) as drain (40 to 43) to be recovered.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 1999Date of Patent: October 23, 2001Assignee: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Tetsu Konishi, Ryotaro Magoshi, Hideyuki Toda, Takaaki Matsuo, Eiichiro Watanabe

Patent number: 5245004Abstract: A process for forming an ultra-high molecular weight nylon 6 by polymerizing .epsilon.-caprolactam, which comprises heating substantially anhydrous .epsilon.-caprolactam at a temperature of from 100.degree. to 200.degree. C. in the presence of (a) a main catalyst selected from a Grignard compound and a halogenated magnesium lactamate, (b) a co-catalyst selected from an acyl lactam compound and an isocyanic acid ester and (c) at least one activator selected from the group consisting of amides, sulfoxides, thioethers and phosphoric esters. According to this inventive process, an ultra-high molecular weight nylon 6 can be produced within a short period of time, making use of industrially advantageous compounds which are stable in air, hardly dangerous and inexpensive. Being free from cross-linkings, the ultra-high molecular weight nylon 6 obtained by the process of this invention is soluble in various solvents and is useful as a starting material for the production of high strength and high modulus materials.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 1992Date of Patent: September 14, 1993Assignee: Unitika Ltd.Inventors: Keizo Kyuda, Kazushige Kojima, Mitsunobu Satoh, Takaaki Matsuo
