Abstract: Body-mounted cameras are used to accurately reconstruct the motion of a subject. Outward-looking cameras are attached to the limbs of the subject, and the joint angles and root pose that define the subject's configuration are estimated through a non-linear optimization, which can incorporate image matching error and temporal continuity of motion. Instrumentation of the environment is not required, allowing for motion capture over extended areas and in outdoor settings.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, for providing assistance in detecting mistranslation in a translated document obtained by performing machine translation of an original document. A word included in the translated document is obtained. Search results are obtained of searching both a first document data group and a second document data group including the first document data group for pieces of document data related to the obtained word. Based on the obtained search results, an index is generated. The index indicates the adequacy of the obtained word as a translated word in a field corresponding to the first document data group. The generated index is output.

In one aspect, a spatio-temporal target patch of an input video data sequence is filled in or replaced by motion field transfer from a spatio-temporal source patch of the input video data sequence. Color is propagated to corresponding portions of the spatio-temporal target patch by treating the transferred motion information as directed edges. These motion field transfer and color propagation operations result in a video completed spatio-temporal target patch. The systems and methods present the video data sequence, which now includes the video completed spatio-temporal target patch, to user for viewing.

Abstract: The invention enables transformation of an SQL statement of CHAR type to another SQL statement of another data type adequate for a database that is defined by a character string type other than CHAR type, thereby enabling to access the database using an SQL statement of CHAR type. At a call level interface (CLI driver), a literal such as a condition clause of an SQL SELECT statement that is included in an application program, a column value of an UPDATE statement or the like is passed to a function of the call level interface as a parameter. The call level interface examines a character type and a character code included in the passed literal, selects the most probable one of character string data types of a database to be accessed, modifies its access syntax in line with the selected data type and attempts to access the database. Accessing of the database is attempted while sequentially modifying the access syntax in the order of probability.
