  • Publication number: 20060136961
Abstract: When a viewing limitation level is set from a receiver side, if the setting of the viewing limitation level is selected from a set-up screen, a TV side microcomputer displays an access code screen. When an access code is inputted, the microcomputer displays the setting select screen of the viewing limitation level of a broadcasting side. When an arbitrary viewing limitation level is selected, the microcomputer obtains the information of the viewing limitation level of a disc side from a viewing limitation level corresponding table and informs a disc side microcomputer of the information of the viewing limitation level and sets the viewing limitation level of the receiver side to the selected viewing limitation level. The disc side microcomputer sets the viewing limitation level of the disc side in accordance with the contents of the information.

  • Publication number: 20050053366
Abstract: A TV system including an optical disc apparatus capable of preventing a burn-in from appearing on the screen of a display is provided, wherein a timer is started to transmit still image data from the optical disc apparatus to a TV image receiver. When a predetermined time elapsed after a still image is displayed, a CPU in the optical disc apparatus sends information of the elapsed time to a CPU in the TV image receiver. Then, the latter CPU saves the current brightness value stored in a memory and supplies a brightness value smaller than the current brightness value to a drive unit for the display, thereby enabling the image intensity to be reduced on the display and/or an OSD image to be eliminated in the still image. The image intensity on the display can be returned to the initial intensity and/or the eliminated OSD image can be recovered by pushing appropriate selection keys in an operation section.

  • Publication number: 20050041961
Abstract: A DVD drive integrated television receiver includes a first microcomputer for a television having a zooming function, and a second microcomputer for a DVD drive having a zooming function and connected to the first microcomputer to enable two-way communication. Preferably, with respect to a first zoom mode common to zoom modes for the television and the DVD drive, a zooming function is shared by employing preferentially the zoom mode for the television, information on a DVD drive zoom mode is obtained when an operation is switched to the television, the first microcomputer employs the information to set up a television zoom mode if the information is for the first zoom mode, and sets the television zoom mode to a zoom mode designated before the operation was switched to the DVD drive if the information is not for the first zoom mode.
