  • Patent number: 10363835
Abstract: A railroad system includes a first vehicle and a second vehicle. The first vehicle includes a drive-part, an inverter, an electric storage device, and a control part. The control part controls feasibility of charge or discharge of the electric storage device based on a detection value of any of a charge accumulation amount of the electric storage device, a distance between the first vehicle and the second vehicle, or a voltage value of a power line. When it is assumed that the detection value when charge or discharge of the electric storage device is switched from an allowable state to a prohibited state is a first set value, and the detection value when charge or discharge of the electric storage device is switched from a prohibited state to an allowable state is a second set value, the first set value and the second set value are different from each other.

  • Publication number: 20120062027
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a vehicle drive system has an engine to generate torque. The vehicle drive system has an alternator coupled to the engine. The alternator converts torque from the engine to magnetic flux and generate an AC voltage. The vehicle drive system has a PWM converter coupled to the alternator to convert AC voltage from the alternator to DC voltage. The vehicle drive system has a PWM inverter which is connected with the PWM converters, the PWM inverter is to transform DC voltage to AC voltage. The vehicle drive system has a filter capacitor between the PWM converter and the PWM inverter. The filter capacitor is configured to be charged by the PWM converter.

  • Publication number: 20090208822
Abstract: A power supply unit includes: a plurality of secondary batteries connected in series; limiting resistors connected to individual electrodes of the plurality of secondary batteries; a voltage detection circuit detecting inter-terminal voltages of each of the plurality of secondary batteries based on potentials obtained from the plurality of secondary batteries through the limiting resistors; a control circuit specifying one of the secondary batteries to be discharged based on the inter-terminal voltages of the plurality of secondary batteries detected by the voltage detection circuit and sending a discharge instruction; and a discharge circuit allowing the specified secondary battery to discharge through the limiting resistors in response to the instruction from the control circuit.
