The present invention provides a composition for use in suppressing deterioration of mental function, comprising a hop oxidation-reaction product. Conditions of deterioration of mental function include conditions selected from the group consisting of depression-related conditions and anxiety-related conditions. The composition of the present invention can be provided in the form of a food composition, and be ingested by subjects with deterioration of mental function or with a risk of deterioration of mental function. The S-fraction can be used as the hop oxidation-reaction product.

A main control valve cooperates with the main exhaust port for varying the timing at which the exhaust port opens in response to engine speed. An on/off auxiliary control valve is positioned in a passage leading from the auxiliary exhaust port for opening and closing the flow through the auxiliary exhaust passage in response to an engine condition. Means retard the opening of the main exhaust port upon opening of the auxiliary exhaust ports to improve the power and torque curves of the engine.

Abstract: Several embodiments of combustion chamber and fuel injection systems for internal combustion engines wherein the combustion chamber is formed by a dome shape recess having a steeply inclined wall and a more shallowly inclined wall. The walls intersect along a line that is disposed closer to the more steeply inclined wall and fuel injector is positioned substantially at this line. In one embodiment, the fuel injector is inclined to spray toward the steeper wall. Various arrangements for forming the combustion chamber recess are disclosed.
