  • Publication number: 20190242315
Abstract: In a predetermined operating region, a fuel injection valve executes a second injection to inject fuel into a cylinder in a compression stroke, and a first injection to inject fuel into the cylinder 2 in the compression stroke or an intake stroke before the second injection. When a purge is executed, the total quantity of fuel to be injected by the fuel injection valve into the cylinder is reduced more than when the purge is not executed, and a fuel reduction quantity of the second injection is made smaller than a fuel reduction quantity of the first injection.

  • Patent number: 10309298
Abstract: To improve the controllability of the feedback control of the boost pressure, an ECU comprises a valve control part that feedback controls a boost pressure of a turbocharger based on a deviation between a target boost pressure and an actual boost pressure, and a determination part that determines whether or not the exhaust state in an exhaust passage can achieve the target boost pressure, and the feedback control includes at least an integral term, and when the determination part determines the exhaust state cannot achieve the target boost pressure, the valve control part reduces the influence of the deviation on the calculation of integral term compared with that when the exhaust state can achieve the target boost pressure.

  • Publication number: 20180283303
Abstract: An exhaust passage 53 includes: a first passage (high-speed passages 24b, 25b, and 26b); and a second passage (low-speed passages 24c, 25c, and 26c). A turbine housing 560 is connected to the exhaust passage 53 downstream from the collector 54. An exhaust device 100 of an engine 1 includes a valve (an exhaust variable valve 3) to open and close the first passage. A controller (an engine controller 7) closes the valve if an engine speed of the engine 1 is lower than a predetermined engine speed and opens the valve if the engine speed of the engine 1 is higher than or equal to the predetermined engine speed. The controller opens the valve even though the engine speed of the engine 1 is lower than the predetermined engine speed if performing the fuel cut control.

  • Patent number: 10012164
Abstract: A control apparatus of an engine including intake and exhaust valves and a variable valve timing mechanism for varying open and close timings is provided. The apparatus includes a processor configured to execute an increasing amount controlling module for performing a fuel amount increase control in which a fuel injection amount is increased to decrease an exhaust gas temperature, and a valve controlling module for controlling, via the variable valve timing mechanism, an overlapping period in which the intake and exhaust valves are both opened on intake stroke. When the increasing amount controlling module performs the increase control, based on an increase of a temperature of the exhaust gas in the increase control, the valve controlling module determines whether a protection for an exhaust system component is required, and if the protection is determined to be required, the valve controlling module shortens the overlapping period.

  • Patent number: 10006351
Abstract: A controller is provided, which detects operating conditions of an internal combustion engine on the basis of detection results from a group of sensors and drives an actuator that modifies an opening position of a wastegate valve on the basis of the operating conditions. When driving the wastegate valve to a fully closed opening, the controller initially drives the actuator toward a preset provisional fully closed position, and after determining on the basis of a detection result from a position sensor that an actual opening of the wastegate valve has reached the provisional fully closed opening, switches a target opening to the fully closed opening and drives the actuator accordingly.

  • Patent number: 9957883
Abstract: A controller, for a supercharger-equipped internal combustion engine, that can improve the feedback response of compressor driving force is provided. In a controller, inertial force produced by an inertial moment of a supercharger is calculated, based on a real rotation speed of the supercharger; then, driving force feedback control is implemented in which a gate valve control value, which is a control value for a gate valve actuator, is changed so that an addition value obtained by adding the inertial force to the real compressor driving force approaches a target compressor driving force.

  • Patent number: 9926860
Abstract: A controller (an engine controller 100) feeds a fuel into a cylinder 11 through a fuel feeder (including a fuel injection valve 53 and a fuel feeding system 54) when the cylinder 11 is in an intake stroke and a compression stroke and if an engine body (an engine 1) is both in a cold running phase and under a heavy load. The engine body at or below a predetermined temperature is in the cold running phase. The load applied to the engine body is heavy when the engine body is under at least a predetermined load. The controller also lowers the upper limit of the charging efficiency of the engine body as the vaporization rate of the fuel fed into the cylinder decreases.

  • Patent number: 9777623
Abstract: When opening or closing an exhaust cut valve in accordance with an operation range of an engine and performing feedback control for an opening degree of a wastegate valve such that a target supercharging pressure is achieved in each of an open operation range where the exhaust cut valve is opened and a closed operation range where the exhaust cut valve is closed, a failure of the exhaust cut valve can be accurately determined. Whether or not an abnormal state occurs is determined in each range. In the abnormal state, although feedback control for closing the wastegate valve is performed, the actual supercharging pressure is lower than the target supercharging pressure, and a deviation between the actual supercharging pressure and the target supercharging pressure is maintained at not less than a predetermined value. Further, whether the exhaust cut valve is normal or in failure is determined.

  • Patent number: 9587569
Abstract: If an engine body is under a load greater than a predetermined load, a controller selects a first fuel feeding mode in which more fuel is fed during a compression stroke than during an intake stroke if the engine body has a temperature equal to or below a predetermined temperature, and selects a second fuel feeding mode in which more fuel is fed during the intake stroke than during the compression stroke if the temperature of the engine body is higher than the predetermined temperature. Immediately after a switch from the first fuel feeding mode to the second fuel feeding mode as the temperature of the engine body rises, the controller sets a correction factor for making an augmenting correction to a fuel amount to be greater than that before the switch.
