Three faces of the heat exchange section (1) except for the side wall plate side, high temperature gas inlet side and outlet side are covered by the housing body (43). Heat resistant filler (45), intervenes between the housing body (43) and the heat exchange section (1). An upper and lower portions (43b, 43c) of the housing body (43) are prevented from deforming due to thermal expansion of the core (1) by a heat deformation absorbing mechanism (47) which is formed by bending the joint of the flange (43a) of the housing body (43) and an upper and lower end portions (37a) of the side wall plate (37).

    Abstract: A plurality of water passages allowing flow of water, a plurality of alcohol passages allowing flow of alcohol and a plurality of high temperature gas passages heating the water passages and the alcohol passages are independently provided in a heat exchanging portion. Liquid alcohol is supplied from a first header to the alcohol passage and water is supplied from a second header to the water passage. The water passage is preferably adapted to make contact with a high temperature section of the high temperature gas passage and the alcohol passage is preferably adapted to make contact with the low temperature section of the high temperature gas passage. By separately vaporizing water and alcohol in this way, the mixing ratio of the water vapor and alcohol vapor can be controlled with high response.

The header (1) has a bottom plate (1B) having a plurality of through holes (4) communicating with the openings of the passages (10A), a top plate (1A) fixed to the bottom plate (1B). In the header (1), a plurality of fluid passages (5) communicating with the through holes (4) and a fuel distribution space (8) communicating with the fluid conducting passages (5) are partitioned. By supplying heat receiving fluid from a fuel supply member (3) fixed to a lateral face of the header (1) to the fuel distribution space (8), the heat receiving fluid is supplied to the heat receiving fluid passages (10A) quickly and uniformly.

    Abstract: A variable valve timing system has a lever pivoted at one end on a piston reciprocally disposed in a cylinder and the other end in engagement with a poppet valve. A first cam cooperates with a second bell crank lever like cam which is eccentrically mounted on a rotatable shaft. Rotation of this shaft moves the second cam toward or away from the engine proper to vary the movement of the lever with which the second cam cooperates. The piston is biased out of the cylinder by a spring and maintained in position by hydraulic fluid introduced into the cylinder through a one way flow arrangement.
