  • Patent number: 8395738
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes an array substrate, a counter-substrate which is disposed to be opposed to the array substrate, a liquid crystal layer which is formed of a liquid crystal material which is held between the array substrate and the counter-substrate, and a sealant which bonds the array substrate and the counter-substrate. The array substrate includes a pixel electrode having a slit, and a counter-electrode which is opposed to the pixel electrode via an interlayer insulation film. The counter-substrate has a shield electrode on an outer surface thereof. The shield electrode is disposed such that an end portion thereof along at least one side of the counter-substrate, is exposed on the outer surface of the counter-substrate.

  • Patent number: 7821606
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel which is configured to hold a liquid crystal layer between an array substrate and a counter-substrate. The array substrate includes, on an insulating substrate, a switching element which is disposed in association with each of pixels, a pixel electrode which is connected to the switching element, and a common electrode which is separated from the pixel electrode and is common to the pixels. The counter-substrate includes a shield electrode disposed on an inner surface of an insulating substrate, which is opposed to the liquid crystal layer, and a dielectric layer disposed between the shield electrode and the liquid crystal layer.

  • Publication number: 20090160748
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device, which is configured such that a liquid crystal layer is held between a pair of substrates, includes a scanning line which extends in a row direction of pixels, a signal line which extends in a column direction of the pixels, a pixel electrode which is disposed in association with each of the pixels and includes a slit, a first common electrode which is opposed to the pixel electrode via an interlayer insulation film, and a second common electrode which extends in parallel to the slit and is disposed adjacent to the pixel electrode in the same layer as the pixel electrode.

  • Publication number: 20080007678
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a plurality of pixels which are arrayed in a matrix. Each of the pixels has a reflection pattern which is configured such that a plurality of projections protruding from a substrate major surface are regularly arranged. Each of the projections has such a shape as to have a major axis in the substrate major surface. A first reflection pattern in a first pixel differs from a second reflection pattern in a second pixel which neighbors the first pixel.
