  • Publication number: 20220302754
Abstract: A control apparatus controls the operation of a stepping motor. The output unit operates a motor in a stopped state at a first driving frequency and switches to a second driving frequency at a stable point. The first driving frequency is a frequency lower than a resonance frequency range of the motor, and the second driving frequency is a frequency higher than the resonance frequency range of the motor.

  • Patent number: 7940607
Abstract: In an optical pickup driving mechanism using a stepping motor, a feeding operation of an optical pickup can be stabilized even in a broad operating temperature environment. In executing an optical axis correction feeding operation in response to an amount of lens shift of an objective lens of an optical pickup, a stepping motor controlling portion drives a stepping motor in a microstep drive mode to move a base of the optical pickup in a radial direction of an optical disk.

  • Patent number: 7046604
Abstract: Herein disclosed is a optical disc driving apparatus for driving an optical disc having a central axis, comprising: a turntable having a central axis, said turntable being adapted to retain an optical disc under the condition that said central axis of said turntable is axially aligned with said central axis of said optical disc; an optical pickup unit movable toward and away from said central axis of said turntable, said optical pickup unit being adapted to write or retrieve information from said optical disc retained by said turntable; a stepping motor having a plurality of coils; a detecting unit for detecting an exterior vibration while being vibrated in response to said exterior vibration; a driver IC for controlling said stepping motor to have said stepping motor assume two different operation states consisting of a first operation state to drive said stepping motor to ensure that said optical pickup unit is moved toward and away from said central axis of said turntable, and a second operation state to d

  • Patent number: 5682362
Abstract: The invention is directed at ensuring stable track accessing despite the presence of backlash in a pickup drive mechanism, and at providing a precise track accessing operation not affected by the relative position or relative speed between pickup and carriage at the time a track access start instruction is issued. To achieve this, when the track access start instruction is issued in a tracking condition in which the pickup is following a track on a recording medium, the carriage is caused to begin to move in a track access direction by the action of a coarse actuator, while the pickup is still kept on track of the recording medium by means of a fine actuator.
