The oral care implement may include a handle having a longitudinal axis that includes a gripping portion and a stem extending from the gripping portion. The gripping portion may have a shoulder that circumferentially surrounds the stem and an annular rib protruding from the shoulder. The replacement head may have a sleeve portion terminating in a proximal edge that is formed from a resilient material. The replacement head may be detachably coupled to the handle so that the annular rib of the shoulder and the proximal edge of the sleeve portion that is formed of elastomeric material are in contact with one another.

The stem may include a post located at a distal end of the stem. The post may have a non-circular transverse profile. More specifically, the post may include a hub portion and a protuberance that either protrudes radially from a side surface of the hub portion, protrudes upward from the shoulder of the gripping portion, or both. The refill head may include a sleeve having an inner surface that defines an internal cavity. The internal cavity may include a central portion and at least one slot portion extending radially from the central portion. Thus, the internal cavity of the sleeve portion may have a profile configured to receive the stem of the oral care implement handle.

The internal cavity may have a proximal section adjacent the open bottom end and a distal section adjacent the closed top end. The distal section of the internal cavity may include a central portion located on the sleeve axis and at least one slot portion radially extending from the central portion.

A vibratory element including a motor and an eccentric may be partially located in the stem. The eccentric may have a first end that is operably coupled to the motor and a second end opposite the first end, the second end having an aperture therein. A guide pin may be fixed to the stem such that a first portion of the guide pin protrudes into the inner cavity of the stem. The first portion of the guide pin may extend through the aperture in the second end of the eccentric.

The head portion may have a front surface with tooth cleaning elements extending therefrom. The sleeve portion may have a cavity configured to receive a stem of the handle and a proximal edge defining an opening into the cavity. Furthermore, the sleeve portion may be formed from a first component formed of a rigid material and a second component formed of a resilient material. The first component of the sleeve portion may include a locking element that is configured to mate with a locking feature of the stem to couple the replacement head to the handle. A portion of the second component may cover the locking element so that no portion of the locking element is exposed.

Abstract: An oral care refill head and an oral care kit comprising the same. The oral care refill head may include a sleeve portion, a head portion, and an elastomeric prophy cup. The sleeve portion may have an inner surface that defines an internal cavity for receiving a portion of a stem of an oral care implement handle therein so that the oral care refill head can be repetitively attached to and detached from the oral care implement handle. The elastomeric prophy cup may comprise an outer surface that forms at least a portion of a peripheral side surface of the head portion. The elastomeric prophy cup may be formed by injection molding an elastomeric material onto a support portion of the head portion. The oral care refill head may be packaged together with a store of an anti-sensitivity oral care material to form a kit.

Abstract: An oral care apparatus that includes an oral care implement and a tracking module detachably coupled to the oral care implement. The oral care implement includes a body having an inner surface that defines an internal cavity. The tracking module may be coupled to the oral care implement by inserting a portion of the tracking module into the internal cavity of the body. The tracking module includes a coupling portion and an electronics portion that are coupled together so as to be fixed together in the axial direction but freely rotatable relative to one another. The tracking module may only be able to be inserted into the internal cavity of the body in a single orientation. Furthermore, when in the internal cavity, the electronics portion of the tracking module may be non-rotatable relative to the body while the coupling portion of the tracking module remains rotatable relative to the body.

The electric toothbrush apparatus includes an electric toothbrush handle extending along a handle axis. The electric toothbrush handle comprises a handle portion comprising user actuatable input means, a power source, and a motion inducing assembly. A cap is detachably coupled to the electric toothbrush handle. The cap comprises a tubular sidewall forming a cavity about a cap axis and a protective member axially extending from a bottom edge of the tubular sidewall in a cantilevered manner so as to overly the user actuatable input means to prevent accidental actuation thereof.

The first, second, and third types of tooth cleaning elements are different in at least one more structural characteristics.

Abstract: A case for a powered oral care implement and a powered oral care implement and case system. In one aspect, the case may include a housing having a base portion and a cover portion coupled thereto. The base portion may receive a body of a powered oral care implement. The housing may also include a processor, an input, charging circuitry, and a speaker that are operably coupled together so that the housing can charge the powered oral care implement and output audio signals as audible output. When the body of the powered oral care implement is positioned within the base portion of the housing, the charging circuitry of the housing may charge a power source of the powered oral care implement.
