  • Patent number: 7375919
Abstract: The dimension in the height direction of a reel braking mechanism to be disposed on the side of an S-side reel table in a video tape recorder is made small while making it difficult to disassemble an assembled state. The dimension in an axis line direction of a pin that engages an elongated hole of a brake member of a brake arm is lengthened, thereby penetrating the brake member and extending downward. The extended portion of the pin is made to pass through a cut formed in an edge of a slide chassis.

  • Patent number: 7113368
Abstract: A recording and reproducing apparatus is provided in which recording and reproducing are performed with respect to an existing format cassette having an existing erroneous erasure prevention switch for preventing erroneous erasure of data recorded with the existing format and a new format cassette having a first erroneous erasure prevention switch located at a position corresponding to the position of the existing erroneous erasure prevention switch and having a second erroneous erasure prevention switch for preventing erroneous erasure of data recorded with a new format; wherein at the time of reproduction whether it is the existing format cassette or the new format cassette is judged based on data obtained from the reproduction of the existing format and new format cassettes to reproduce the cassette. Hereupon, in the new format cassette, the first erroneous erasure prevention means is always kept in a state of preventing the erroneous erasure.

  • Patent number: 6208381
Abstract: A convertible connector arrangement for a video camera includes first and second connector portions. One of the connectors is configured for analog signals and the other for digital signals. The first and second connectors are joined along one side thereof to be pivotally mounted by a mounting member in an installation body, or frame. The mounting member and the joined connectors are configured such that the two connectors are disposed at a predetermined angle in relation to one another. According to pivotal movement of the mounting member, one of the two connectors may be operably disposed in an opening provided in the installation body. The other connection is thus inoperably stored within the video camera or VTR body. A locking mechanism is further provided to assure secure mounting and operability. A video camera utilizing the convertible connector arrangement may thus be selectably converted for analog or digital operation in a secure and efficient manner.
