  • Patent number: 5816134
Abstract: A compressor has a piston (11) that reciprocates between a top dead center and a bottom dead center in a cylinder bore (2a) by means of a driving body (9) mounted on a rotary shaft (6) in a crank chamber (5) during the rotation of the rotary shaft (6). The piston (11) has an outer circumferential surface that slides against an inner circumferential surface of the cylinder bore (2a). The outer circumferential surface of the piston (11) is provided with a groove (17; 44; 46) extending in the direction of an axis (S) of the piston (11). During reciprocation of the piston (11), lubricating oil adhered to the inner circumferential surface of the cylinder bore (2a) is collected in the groove (17; 44; 46). When the groove (17; 44; 46) is exposed to the inside of the crank chamber (5) from the cylinder bore (2a) during the reciprocation of the piston (11), the lubricating oil in the groove (17; 44; 46) is supplied to the inside of the crank chamber (5).

  • Patent number: 5784950
Abstract: A single headed swash plate type compressor including, a housing with a crank chamber and cylinder bore, pistons arranged in cylinder bores, and a swash plate driven by a drive shaft. Each of the pistons has at one end thereof a bearing having axially spaced first and second bearing portions and an axially extending third portion interconnecting the first and second bearing portions. Shoes are slidably arranged between the swash plate and the first and second bearing portions for converting rotational movement of the swash plate into reciprocal movement of the pistons. An oil communication hole is arranged in and extends through the second bearing portion for fluid communication between the groove of the second bearing portion on the side remote from the cylinder bore and the crank chamber.

  • Patent number: 5537743
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for connecting a piston with a disk plate by way of a piston rod in a compressor. The disk plate is rotatably mounted on a drive shaft for the integral rotation with the shaft for driving a piston. The piston rod is mechanically connected to the disk plate and the piston at its both end. After forming spherical portions at both ends of the piston rod, cavities are formed in the in the disk plate and the piston in conformity with the spherical portions. Subsequently, a cylindrical wall protruding from an opening edge of each cavity is formed. The cylindrical wall is then caulked inwardly in such a manner that an annular clearance having a wedge-like cross section is defined between an inner circumference of the free end and an outer circumference of the spherical portion which is accommodated in the cavity.

  • Patent number: 5056416
Abstract: A variable capacity wobble plate type compressor provided with a reciprocatory piston mechanism for compressing a refrigerant gas and discharging the compressed refrigerant gas, a drive shaft driven by an external drive source to allow an assembly of angularly variable drive and wobble plates to reciprocate the reciprocatory piston mechanism, a coil spring mounted on the drive shaft for applying a biasing force to the assembly of drive and wobble plates toward a predetermined angularly inclined position, and annular spring support members for supporting the opposite ends of the coil spring so that the coil spring is not in contact with the outer surface of the drive shaft, to thereby prevent an abrasion of the coil spring and the drive shaft when the coil spring is contracted and expanded during the operation of the compressor.

  • Patent number: 4930995
Abstract: In a refrigerant gas compressor wherein a refrigerant gas compressed in a cylinder bore is discharged out therefrom into a discharge chamber through a discharge port, there is provided a plurality of attenuating cavities in the discharge chamber each located in such facing relation to the discharge port that the refrigerant gas discharged through said discharge port is introduced into said cavity.

  • Patent number: 4880356
Abstract: In a wobble plate type compressor having a wobble plate that converts a rotational motion of a rotatable drive plate having a variable angle of inclination to a linear reciprocating motion of a piston, a method of controlling the wobble plate type compressor to control a displacement of the compressor by changing an angle of inclination of the wobble plate according to a pressure difference between a pressure in a crankcase chamber acting on one side of the piston and a suction pressure acting on the other side of the piston. A solenoid-operated control valve is disposed in a pressure control passage extending from a discharge chamber to the crankcase chamber. The control valve is opened and closed to control the above-mentioned pressure difference, thus controlling the angle of inclination of the wobble plate. An opening of the control valve is increased during a period in which the displacement of the compressor is to be reduced, according to a displacement rapid reduction command signal.
