    Abstract: A card edge connector latch is provided which makes it possible to install cards or cards side by side at a high density on a motherboard without increasing the overall size of the connector. The card edge connector latch is used together with a card edge connector that is mounted on a motherboard. The latch comprises board fasteners which are fastened to the motherboard, and latches which latch an opposite end portion of the card, a contact end portion of which is received in the card edge connector 1, in a state in which the card is substantially parallel to the motherboard. The latch is carried on and fastened to the motherboard opposite the card edge connector without being assembled with the card edge connector. The latches extend toward and engage with the opposite end portion of the card.

    Abstract: A card edge connector 1 capable of effectively restraining a daughter board B from inadvertent removal in the horizontal direction by increasing the holding pressure of the daughter board B. The card edge connector 1 has an insulated housing 10 mounted onto the mother board A and latch members 30A, 30B attached to the housing 10, for holding the daughter board B. The latch members 30A, 30B have a daughter board locking portion 47a for restraining the daughter board B in the horizontal direction. The locking portion engages the inner wall of the semicircular recess B1 formed at the edge portion of the daughter board B. The daughter board locking portion 47a has a pointed edge portion 47c for penetrating the inner wall of the semicircular recess B1.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a plug 2 and receptacle 100 each having shells 6,104. When the connectors 2,100 are engaged, the shell 104 of the receptacle 100 slides in contact with the shell 6 of the plug 2. The steps 152 of the shell 104 are positioned beneath the steps 14 of the shell 6, so that openings 118 and 34 formed in the respective steps 152 and 14 are aligned with each other when the connectors are completely engaged with each other. During the process of engagement, the claws 32 of the latching arms 10 move along the steps 152, advance into the openings 118 by the action of the plate springs 47, to latch the plug and receptacle together. To disengage, the release sections of the latching arms 10 are pressed whereupon the engaging members 30 open so that the claws 32 exit the openings 118.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a shielded connector which has a relatively small size and simple construction, and which at the same time allows for stable fastening of a shield member to a housing. Shielded connector (10) has a shield member (50), which is mounted along an outside surface of a housing (30). The shield member (50) has an upper wall (51) and a pair of side walls (58), which are positioned on both sides of the upper wall (51). When the shield member (50) is mounted on the housing (30), surface-mounting sections (57b), which are located in the same plane with the side walls (58), are passed through first sections of slots (35) formed in the housing (30), after which the surface-mounting sections (57b) are bent outward substantially at right angles.
