  • Publication number: 20090059372
Abstract: Disclosed is an optical image stabilizer having a low sliding load, a smooth operation, and a small thickness. When a lens holder and an X slider are moved in the X direction, small balls roll between the side surface of the lens holder and the inner surface of a frame of a Y slider, thereby reducing a sliding load therebetween. When the lens holder and the Y slider are moved in the X direction, small balls roll between the side surface of the lens holder and the inner surface of the frame of the X slider, thereby reducing a sliding load therebetween. Therefore, it is possible to achieve an optical image stabilizer having low power consumption, a smooth operation, and high responsibility. In addition, the thickness of the lens holder is equal to or smaller than the sum of the thicknesses of the X slider and the Y slider overlapped with each other. Therefore, it is possible to achieve an optical image stabilizer having a small thickness.

  • Patent number: 7005811
Abstract: A vibration generator system is capable of generating vibrations of a frequency that can be bodily sensed by humans, notwithstanding a small size, and making setting of a configuration of vibrations easy. When a drive signal composed of a set of an accumulation signal and a damping signal is given as a natural frequency of a movable body, a vibrational waveform of the movable body makes an envelope. Since a frequency of the envelope is in a lower frequency band than the natural frequency of the movable body, humans can surely sense vibrations. When the number of and a current quantity of excitation signals and reverse excitation signals included in the accumulation signal are changed and the number of and a current quantity of inhibition signals and reverse inhibition signals included in the damping signal are changed, the envelope can be changed in frequency and amplitude, so that it becomes possible to generate a variety of vibrations.

  • Publication number: 20050169627
Abstract: There is provided a lens barrel having a shutter unit capable of being slimmed by disposing an actuator for driving a shutter blade in a convex portion of the shutter unit and by disposing one of a plurality of lenses in an outer peripheral side of the convex portion. In a state of supporting a shutter blade, a base member as a supporting member is built in a lens barrel, a convex portion having a hollow inner shape is formed at an outer peripheral side of the base member, and an actuator (not shown), which enables an opening to open and shut by driving the shutter blade, is disposed in the hollow convex portion. In the base member, a concave portion is formed at an inner peripheral side of the convex portion, and one of the plurality of lenses is disposed in the concave portion, by which slimming can be achieved.

  • Publication number: 20050146637
Abstract: A shutter device of an imaging apparatus according to the present invention is interposed between an objective lens and a first lens barrel. An opening and closing unit for moving a shutter blade and an aperture blade to an open or closed position is disposed on a first side of or in the vicinity of an imaginary line extending in a direction orthogonal to an optical axis of the lens. The surface area of the shutter device on a second side of the imaginary line is smaller than the surface area of the first side. Actuators for moving the lens barrel along the optical axis are disposed in the vicinity of the second side of the shutter device. In this way, the length of the shutter device in the optical axis direction becomes short.

  • Patent number: 6724552
Abstract: A magnetic disk apparatus is capable of reading normal data following a read error of a reference signal that has occurred due to a scratch or the like on a disk surface. In the magnetic disk apparatus, if a reference signal (STM) fails to be read at point P, then an elapsed time (Tw) is measured, and a time T2 indicating the difference between a time T1 at which a read gate is supposed to be opened and the time Tw is determined. The read gate is opened after the time T2 has passed, thereby making it possible to properly read data and subject the read data to a decoding process.

  • Patent number: 6545832
Abstract: A parameter value is set in a register. A signal is read based on the parameter value. When an error is recognized from an MSE value calculated by a Viterbi decoder, the parameter value is changed and the signal is reread. A new parameter value is calculated based on a change value by which the parameter value is changed and the MSE value. The new parameter value is stored in the register. Thus, an error rate can be converged as a result of the retry.

  • Patent number: 6483789
Abstract: A method for detecting a defective sector on a recording medium in a method for recording and/or reproducing data for the signal recording medium. A read gate is opened to reproduce data from a data field at a pre-set timing derived from a timing reference signal obtained on detecting a servo timing mark recorded in a servo field. If the timing reference signal has not been detected with success, the read gate is opened at a timing obtained based on a detection signal of a previously detected servo timing mark to reproduce the data from the data field. In detecting the defective sector, the state of deviation between the timing of opening the read gate and the data field is detected to detect the defective sector of the disc.

  • Patent number: 5264771
Abstract: The invention concerns with a system for controlling a stepping motor, and more particularly with a stepping motor control system which moves a head of a disk drive unit with (1-2)-phase excitation. With the stepping motor controlling system, a driving force is produced to rotate the stepping motor by a predetermined angle with the (1-2)-phase excitation for ech step pulse supplied from the exterior, and step pulses with a plurality of cycles are used to make the stepping motor rotate at different speeds depending on the cycles of the step pulses. In that controlling system, a time period of the 1-phase excitation is changed depending on the pulse interval of the step pulses, thereby reducing a level of noisy sounds like seek noise.
