  • Patent number: 5755207
Abstract: A fuel injection control device for a spark ignition engine with a fuel injector for injecting fuel directly into the cylinder is disclosed. The device comprises a determination mechanism for determining that the temperature of the injection hole of the injector is higher than a predetermined temperature. A controller controls the fuel injection such that a required amount of fuel is injected after the fuel pressure is dropped when the determination mechanism determines that the temperature of the injection hole of the injector is higher than the predetermined temperature.

  • Patent number: 5497744
Abstract: A fuel injector with an integrated spark plug for a direct injection type engine capable of adequate fuel injection and adequate spark discharge, even if it becomes very hot because the end part of device is exposed in a combustion chamber and a spark discharge is induced there. An electric conductor is disposed along the central axis, and the electric conductor is electrically coupled with a cable for supplying electric current for the spark discharge. A needle valve made of conductive material is electrically coupled with the electric conductor through a return spring made of conductive material and is reciprocally moved by a solenoid. A needle housing made of conductive material receives the needle valve and has a nozzle for injecting fuel and a center electrode at its end. A grounding electrode is disposed near the center electrode. Insulators are disposed outside of the electric conductor.

  • Patent number: 5172865
Abstract: A fuel supply device comprising a pressurized air passage, a nozzle opening formed at a tip end of the pressurized air passage to inject fuel and pressurized air, a valve for opening or closing the nozzle opening, a fuel injector for injecting fuel in the pressurized air passage, and a guide member arranged in the pressurized air passage between the nozzle opening and the fuel injector. The guide member has a least three contacting faces which are in contact with a cylindrical inner wall of the pressurized air passage, and at least three substantially flat faces each extending approximately in a straight line between the contacting faces which are located on each side of the flat face to form a narrow passage between the cylindrical inner wall of the pressurized air passage and the flat face.

  • Patent number: 5016598
Abstract: A fuel injection control apparatus provided with an air blast valve having a nozzle opening connected to an engine-drive air pump through a compressed air passage, a fuel injector for injecting fuel in the compressed air passage, and an opening and closing valve for controlling the opening and closing of the nozzle opening. When the compressed air pressure in the compressed air passage is lower than a set pressure, fuel is injected from the fuel injector during the opening of the opening and closing valve and the injected fuel is ejected from the nozzle opening by inertia force. When the compressed air pressure in the compressed air passage is above a set pressure, the fuel is injected from the fuel injector during the closing of the opening and closing valve and the injected fuel is ejected from the nozzle opening by compressed air during the opening of the opening and closing valve.

  • Patent number: 4986247
Abstract: A fuel supply device comprising a nozzle opening for injecting fuel and pressurized air. The opening operation of the nozzle opening is electromagnetically controlled by a needle. The nozzle of a fuel injector is arranged in a nozzle chamber. The nozzle chamber has an air inlet and an air outlet separately formed from and spaced from the air inlet. The air inlet is connected to a pressurized air source, and the air outlet is connected to the nozzle opening.
