  • Publication number: 20090244497
Abstract: According to one embodiment, in a projection display apparatus, laser light which has been light-modulated based on a picture signal is reflected by a scanning element which can control a light reflection angle based on the picture signal, thereby scanning the same on a screen. The projection display apparatus includes a warning module which warns that laser light will be emitted from this time on when the laser light generating element is required to generate laser light, and a control module which causes the laser light generating element to generate laser light having a preset prescribed output power in a state where the warning has been made by the warning module.

  • Patent number: 7237903
Abstract: A scaler unit writes an input video signal into a frame memory and scales the number of pixels of the input video signal to any number of pixels when the input video signal is read out from the frame memory. A display device displays a picture based on the video signal. A projection lens projects the picture displayed on the display device onto a screen. A control unit controls the scaler unit so as to scale the number of pixels of the input video signal to a smaller number of pixels than the maximum displayable number of pixels of the display device. The scaler unit shifts the picture displayed on the display device to a desired position in the displayable region on the display device by changing the timing of the vertical and horizontal superimposition of the video signal according to an instruction from an operating device.
