  • Publication number: 20040104372
Abstract: An air passage in an air-conditioner such as an automotive air-conditioner is selectively opened or closed by moving a position of an opening formed on a film screen relative to the air passage. The film screen is coupled to a pair of rollers, forming a curved path between the pair of rollers guided by a guiding surface. The film screen is formed by laminating a first film made of resin and a second film made of woven fabric having a higher elongation rate for a temperature rise than the first film. The second film is positioned inside of the curved path to prevent a shape of the roller or the guiding surface from being easily transferred to the film screen.

  • Publication number: 20040098995
Abstract: A vehicle air conditioner includes a main blower and a sub-blower for blowing air into a passenger compartment. The main blower is disposed to blow conditioned air in a front air passage toward a front seat area in the passenger compartment, and the sub-blower is disposed in a rear air passage having an air flow resistance larger than that in the front air passage so that a part of air blown by the main blower is blown by the sub-blower toward a rear seat area in the passenger compartment through the rear air passage. In the air conditioner, an air amount blown by the sub-blower is controlled to be increased in accordance with a decrease of an air amount blown by the main blower. Therefore, automatic control of the air amount blown by the sub-blower can be accurately performed.

  • Publication number: 20040093885
Abstract: A vehicle air conditioner includes a main blower and a sub-blower for blowing air into a passenger compartment. A heat exchange unit for performing a heat exchange with air blown by the main blower is disposed in a case, and the case is provided with a front air passage and a rear air passage. A rear air duct through which air in the rear air passage is introduced to a rear area in the passenger compartment is connected to the case, so that an air flow resistance in the rear air passage becomes larger as compared with the air flow resistance in the front air passage. Further, the sub-blower is disposed integrally with the case for blowing air in the rear air passage to the rear area in the passenger compartment. Accordingly, it can effectively prevent a shortage of an air conditioning capacity in the rear area of the passenger compartment.

  • Publication number: 20040069483
Abstract: A vehicle air conditioning system secures an appropriate temperature difference in the air blown through vertically arranged air ducts when the system is in a bi-level mode. A hot air inlet is disposed above a cool air inlet. A face opening is disposed at an upper location while foot openings are disposed at a lower location. A blow mode-changing door for opening and closing both the openings is a butterfly type door. The blow mode-changing door is pivotally disposed in a door housing. In the bi-level mode in which the blow mode-changing door opens both the foot openings and the face opening, a bi-level mode bypass passageway for introducing cool air from the cool air inlet into the face opening is defined between an extremity of the blow mode-changing door and the inner wall surface of the door-housing portion.

  • Publication number: 20040069484
Abstract: A vehicle air conditioner has an air conditioning case in which a rotary door is provided in an intersection between a cooled and a heated air passage, and a face and a foot blow-out opening. The communicating area ratio(s) between an inlet-side opening of the rotary door and the cooled air passage, the heated air passage, or both the cooled and heated air passages can change by rotating the rotary door, so that the rotary door serves as an air-mix door. In addition, the communicating area ratio(s) between an outlet-side opening and the face opening, the foot opening, or both the face and foot openings can change, so that the rotary door serves as a mode switching door. The conditioned air can be prevented from being blown out through the face and foot openings by rotating the rotary door to a predetermined position.

  • Publication number: 20040060316
Abstract: A heater for an air conditioner includes plural water tubes and plural refrigerant tubes which are arranged in parallel in an air flow direction. Therefore, the heater can heat air by using at least one of the heating sources while a pressure loss in the heater can be effectively reduced. For example, in a quick-heating mode, high-temperature refrigerant from a refrigerant cycle flows into the heater to heat the blown air, and low-temperature engine-cooling water from an engine bypasses the heater. In this case, thermal leakage from the refrigerant to the engine-cooling water is avoided.

  • Publication number: 20040016537
Abstract: Air is introduced into an automotive air-conditioner from a front side of a vehicle, and the air conditioned in the air-conditioner is supplied to a passenger compartment from a rear side of an air-conditioner casing. An aspirator for drawing air in the passenger compartment to a temperature sensor is mounted on a rear wall or a sidewall of the casing, so that the aspirator is exposed to a space that is always communicating with the conditioned air in the air-conditioner. In this manner, the air in the passenger compartment is surely supplied to the temperature sensor irrespective of operating modes of the air-conditioner.

  • Publication number: 20030232590
Abstract: An air passage opening/closing device includes a film member for opening and closing an opening of an air passage of a case. One end of the film member is fixed to a fixing portion on an outer periphery of the opening of the air passage, and the other end thereof is connected to a film winding shaft. A moving member movable by rotation of a drive shaft is provided on the opening, and the film winding shaft is moved while being rotated by the movement of the moving member, so that the film member at the other end side is wound around and unwound from the film winding shaft. Accordingly, when the air passage is opened and closed by the film member, sliding friction can be prevented from being generated between the film member and the case.

  • Patent number: 6609593
Abstract: A protective boot having a bellows portion, a cylindrical portion, a guide-bore-side mounting portion, a thick-walled portion, a thin-walled portion, a pin-side mounting portion and an air passage groove. In an operation for mounting of the protective boot, the pin-side mounting portion is inclined radially inward through the thin-walled portion while being slidably moved along the sliding pin, to thereby effect an escape of air contained in an annular space between the sliding pin and the boot through the air passage groove. The thick-walled portion prevents the pin-side mounting portion from bending radially inward to an undesirable extent. Thus, the operation for mounting of the protective boot can be smoothly conducted.

  • Patent number: 6425819
Abstract: In an air conditioner, filter deformation strings are disposed on an outer surface side of a bent portion of a filter, so that the bent portion of the filter is crushed when a predetermined tension is applied to the strings. When the strings are drawn, the bent portion of the filter is deformed to a plate like, and the filter can be readily removed from a casing through a filter-removable port of the casing. On the other hand, when the filter is attached into the casing, the deformed plate-like filter is inserted into the casing from the filter-removable port while drawing the strings, and thereafter, the strings are loosened so that the shape of the filter returns to an original shape.

  • Patent number: 6247561
Abstract: In the disk brake, mounting portions of the caliper of a disk brake extending toward the entrance side and the exit side with respect to the rotation direction of the disk. Relative to the rotation direction, the length of the mounting portion on the entrance side is greater than that of the mounting portion on the exit side so that the cylinder portion is offset toward the exit side. Further, the mounting portion on the entrance side has thickenings formed to extend in a longitudinal direction thereof, so that with respect to the direction of the axis of the disk, the thickness of the mounting portion on the entrance side is greater than that of the mounting portion on the exit side. During braking, when a bending moment acts on the caliper, which can cause inclination of the caliper relative to the disk, flexural rigidity of the mounting portion on the entrance side is higher than that of the mounting portion on the exit side.
