  • Patent number: 11965473
Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes a port injection valve, a direct injection valve, and a forced-induction device. A ratio of an amount of fuel injected from the port injection valve with respect to a total amount of fuel supplied for one fuel combustion in the cylinder is defined as a port injection ratio. The internal combustion engine is controlled such that, in a case in which a condition is satisfied that the forced-induction device is in an operation of performing forced induction and the internal combustion engine is in an engine operation region in which a valve overlap period is greater than zero, the port injection ratio is set to be small and a start timing of fuel injection from the port injection valve is delayed as compared with a case in which the condition is not satisfied.

  • Patent number: 11933238
Abstract: A controller and a control method for an internal combustion engine, and a memory medium are provided. In a first combustion cylinder, first combustion is caused by control circuitry when the engine is restarted from a state where fuel combustion in cylinders is suspended. An automatic stopping process suspends the fuel combustion in the cylinders and controls a throttle valve to a closed state when a predetermined condition is satisfied. A first calculation process calculates an amount of fuel injected into the first combustion cylinder based on a position of the piston in the first combustion cylinder in a case where a rotation speed of a crankshaft obtained when the restart was requested is zero. A second calculation process calculates the injection amount based on the rotation speed in a case where the rotation speed obtained when the restart was requested is higher than zero.

  • Publication number: 20230323832
Abstract: A controller is configured to control an internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine can execute port injection and direct injection and can execute a deactivating process that stops supplying fuel to at least one of cylinders and supplies fuel to the remaining cylinders. The controller is configured to execute, when terminating the deactivating process to restart supplying fuel to a deactivated cylinder in which supply of fuel is stopped, a retarding process that executes a first fuel injection through the direct injection and retards a fuel injection start timing as compared to when executing the port injection.
