  • Publication number: 20230400906
Abstract: A power supply device includes circuitry to supply power to an information processing apparatus, acquire a detection result of a person by a sensor disposed at the information processing apparatus, output a first determination result indicating whether a first condition is satisfied, and output a second determination result indicating whether a second condition is satisfied. When the detection result indicates that a person is detected in a state where the information processing apparatus is in a power saving mode, the circuitry cancels the power saving mode based on the first determination result and the second determination result. In the power saving mode, the power supplied to the information processing apparatus is reduced as compared with a normal mode. The first condition relates to an operation receivable by the information processing apparatus, and the second condition relates to a situation around the information processing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 8548634
Abstract: In an information processing device, an operation executing unit executes a requested operation in one of a plurality of operating modes. A monitoring unit monitors an electric power consumed by the execution of the requested operation. Information related to the consumed electric power is stored in a memory unit. A setting unit defines a consumption period and an allowable consumed electric power within the consumption period. A control unit computes a consumed-electric-power log of the consumed electric power monitored at intervals of a predetermined time and a consumed-electric-power total log, and stores consumed-electric-power log related information in the memory unit. When an operation request is received within the consumption period, the control unit controls the execution of the requested operation based on the consumed-electric-power log related information and the allowable consumed electric power.

  • Patent number: 8284415
Abstract: A hardware self-diagnosing method for performing a hardware self-diagnosis of an image forming apparatus includes reading a set value stored in a memory unit of the image forming apparatus; performing the hardware self-diagnosis of the image forming apparatus in a detailed diagnosis mode at intervals determined by the set value stored in the memory unit; and performing the hardware self-diagnosis of the image forming apparatus in a simplified diagnosis mode in between the intervals at which the hardware self-diagnosis is performed in the detailed diagnosis mode. The set value may be a period of time or a number of recording media outputted by the image forming apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20120110286
Abstract: An image processing apparatus including: a first storage unit; a second storage unit that has a higher storage capacity than that of the first storage unit and a longer start-up time than that of the first storage unit; and a control unit that, after shifting to a power-saving mode in which power consumption is reduced by shutting off power supply at least to the second storage unit, starts a recovery process from the power-saving mode upon occurrence of a recovery request from the power-saving mode to perform a processing operation using the second storage unit, starts the processing operation with the first storage unit as a data storing destination when the first storage unit is ready for use, and switches the data storing destination from the first storage unit to the second storage unit when the second storage unit is ready for use.
