Patent number: 7619710Abstract: An in-plane switching mode active matrix type liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate located opposing the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the first and second substrates. The first substrate includes a thin film transistor, a pixel electrode each associated to a pixel to be driven, a common electrode to which a reference voltage is applied, data lines, a scanning line, and common electrode lines. Molecular axes of liquid crystal are rotated in a plane parallel with the first substrate by an electric field substantially parallel with a plane of the first substrate to thereby display certain images. The common electrode is composed of transparent material and are formed on a layer located closer to the liquid crystal layer than the data lines. The common electrode entirely overlaps the data lines except an area where the data lines are located in the vicinity of the scanning line.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2005Date of Patent: November 17, 2009Assignee: NEC LCD Technologies, Ltd.Inventors: Shinichi Nishida, Kimikazu Matsumoto, Takahisa Hannuki, Kunimasa Itakura

Publication number: 20080021982Abstract: The content fee of a content downloaded from a content service provider (CSP) to a mobile terminal is capable of being confirmed whether it is the content fee of the content actually downloaded to the mobile terminal. A probe device extracts communication data transmitted between the mobile terminal and the CSP. A charging processing server generates charging data for the content downloaded to the mobile terminal based on the packet CDR inputted from a communication control server and on the data inputted from the probe device, and outputs the data to a charging processing server. The charging processing server collates the content fee stated in the charging data with the content CDR provided in advance from the CSP.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2007Publication date: January 24, 2008Applicant: NEC CorporationInventor: Takahisa HANNUKI

Patent number: 6862067Abstract: An active-matrix addressing LCD device using lateral electric field realizes a higher transmittance and a higher fabrication yield and improves the aperture ratio without raising the fabrication cost. A first one of the common electrode lines, a first one of the pixel potential layers, and an intervening dielectric layer constitute a first storage capacitor for each of the pixels and at the same time, a second one of the common electrode lines, a second one of the pixel potential layers, and the intervening dielectric layer constitute a second storage capacitor for the same pixel. The first and second pixel potential layers are electrically connected to each other by way of a corresponding transparent pixel electrode. Therefore, the rotation of the liquid crystal molecules caused by applied electric field makes full contribution to the panel transmittance, preventing the obtainable total panel transmittance from lowering. This means that a higher transmittance is obtainable.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 2003Date of Patent: March 1, 2005Assignee: NEC LCD Technologies, Ltd.Inventors: Kimikazu Matsumoto, Takahisa Hannuki
