Patent number: 12068115Abstract: A ceramic electronic component includes an element body, a first external electrode, and a second external electrode. The element body includes a dielectric, at least one first internal electrode, and at least one second internal electrode laminated over the first internal electrode via the dielectric interposed therebetween. The element body has a top surface, a bottom surface, a pair of side surfaces, a first end surface, and a second end surface, thereby the element body having a generally cuboid shape. The first internal electrode is exposed on the first end surface. The second internal electrode is exposed on the second end surface. The side surfaces of the element body are concavely curved along a longitudinal direction, so that the element body has a longitudinal central part at which a width is less than a width at the end surface. The first external electrode is formed on the first end surface and electrically connected with the first internal electrode.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2022Date of Patent: August 20, 2024Assignee: TAIYO YUDEN CO., LTD.Inventors: Anju Okada, Mina Amano, Takahisa Fukuda

Patent number: 8179641Abstract: Embodiments in accordance with the present invention allow a resin member accommodating therein a trace, to have a small thickness. An HDD according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a resin accommodation member fixed to a side surface of arms. Part of a trace is accommodated in a slit formed in the accommodation member. Accommodating part of the trace in the slit helps suppress fluttering of the trace and improve head positioning accuracy. A corrugated surface structure is formed on each of surfaces of the arms and the accommodation member in abutment with each other. The corrugated surface structure is used to position the accommodation member in a pivot direction. The accommodation member, having the corrugated surface structure for positioning on the surface being fixed, can be made to have a thin wall.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2007Date of Patent: May 15, 2012Assignee: Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Netherlands B.V.Inventors: Takahisa Okada, Kohji Takahashi, Takeshi Saito, Tomoki Hiramatsu

Patent number: 8130472Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a magnetic disk device that can reduce an external force applied to the carriage. According to one embodiment, in a magnetic disk device, a bracket inserted between a carriage and a base is supported toward the base side by support portions owned by the bracket and by a band with a space provided between the bracket and the opposed side of the carriage (such as a top surface of the mounting stand). This configuration cannot apply an external force in the rotation direction to the carriage from the bracket even when the bracket is thermally expanded due to heat generated from a head amplifier or the like mounted on a flexible substrate.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2007Date of Patent: March 6, 2012Assignee: Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Netherlands B.V.Inventors: Hirokazu Tanizawa, Osamu Beppu, Gentaro Nakamura, Takahisa Okada

Patent number: 8102627Abstract: Embodiments in accordance with the present invention provide a limiter mechanism that permits the gimbal to be designed more freely than before. The head gimbal assembly (HGA) according to one embodiment of the present invention has a limiter mechanism within the silhouette of the head slider. The limiter mechanism has a limiter tab formed in the gimbal tongue and projection of the load beam. Upon receipt of an external impact, the projection locks the limiter tab, thereby limiting the deformation of the gimbal. The limiter tab is formed by fabricating a part within the silhouette of the head slider. This structure allows for freer design of the gimbal and the load beam.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2007Date of Patent: January 24, 2012Assignee: Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Netherlands B.V.Inventors: Takuma Muraki, Kiroyasu Tsuchida, Kazuyoshi Yoshida, Takahisa Okada

Patent number: 7768745Abstract: Embodiments of the invention prevent contact between a peripheral edge of a magnetic disk and a counter surface of a ramp when the magnetic disk is displaced. In one embodiment, a ramp is disposed near the peripheral side surface of a magnetic disk. The ramp has magnetic disk retainers each having slide surfaces and counter surfaces respectively facing the recording surfaces of the magnetic disk. Grooves or recesses are formed in the counter surfaces to define relief spaces. When the peripheral side surface of the magnetic disk is displaced toward the counter surface by shocks exerted on the magnetic disk drive, the relief space prevents the peripheral edge from coming into contact with the counter surface. Thus the amount of particles produced by the collision of the magnetic disk with the ramp can be reduced.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 2006Date of Patent: August 3, 2010Assignee: Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Netherlands B.V.Inventors: Takahisa Okada, Tomoki Hiramatsu, Kohji Takahashi, Katsuya Watanabe

Patent number: 7483239Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide, in a compact magnetic disk drive, a stable structure capable of reducing self-oscillation occurring from disk spinning, while suppressing generation of dust and dirt. In one embodiment, a magnetic disk is mounted on a hub of a spindle motor. A clamp is further attached to secure the magnetic disk in position. A plurality of opening portions are formed in the clamp around an axis. A counterweight formed of an elastic material is mounted in the opening portion by being press-fitted therein. The counterweight is less likely to generate dust and dirt through friction during insertion and looseness. A gap is provided between the clamp and the hub at locations near the opening portions. The counterweight has a protruded portion on a side surface of a circular column portion. The protruded portion slides into the gap between the clamp and the hub, counteracting a tendency of the counterweight to drop out of position.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2005Date of Patent: January 27, 2009Assignee: Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Netherlands B.V.Inventors: Tomoki Hiramatsu, Takahisa Okada, Takeji Sumiya, Hitoshi Tsujino
