  • Publication number: 20070249232
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a plurality of contacts having a contact portion adapted to contact the memory card and arranged above and below, and a housing for arranging and holding the contacts and having a fitting opening into which a memory card is inserted. The housing is on the side of the contacts arranged below with at least two projections located on the side of insertion of the memory card and projecting into the fitting opening, and the projections having an inducing portion at their innermost end in the inserting direction of the memory card. With the electrical connector thus constructed, a memory card can be inserted into the connector without deforming the contacts, and memory card can be prevented from swiftly dashing out of the connector by the action of contact forces of the contacts when removing the memory card from the electrical connector.

  • Publication number: 20070066105
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a plurality of contacts, a housing arranging and holding the contacts and having a fitting opening into which a memory card is inserted, and pivotally movable locking members provided at both longitudinal ends of the housing, respectively, for holding and removing the memory card. The housing includes a main body for arranging and holding the contacts, and mounting portions provided at both the longitudinal ends for pivotally movably mounting the locking members. The mounting portions are each provided on both sides in width direction with protruding pieces extending against the inserting direction of the memory card. The locking members each include an anchoring portion adapted to engage and embrace the protruding pieces under a condition the memory card has been inserted. The electrical connector can comply with customers' requirements against vibration and does not cause any failed connection with a memory card even upon vibration and impact.

  • Publication number: 20070010121
Abstract: An electrical connector for a memory card to be removably inserted thereinto, includes a plurality of contacts having a contact portion to contact the memory card, a housing arranging and holding the contacts and having a fitting opening for inserting the memory card, and pivotally movable locking members at both longitudinal ends of the housing for holding or removing the memory card. Upon the electrical connectors being arranged in parallel with and spaced from one another in their width directions with a pitch of 6 to 8 mm, the housing includes reliefs on its upper side and recesses on its lower side on both sides in its width direction for a soldering iron. The electrical connector can allow a soldering iron to be easily inserted into the spacing between electrical connectors arranged even with a pitch of 6 to 8 mm in width direction without contacting their housings in soldering operation.
