  • Patent number: 5143167
Abstract: In a four-wheel-drive motor vehicle of transversely-disposed engine type, an engine and a transmission are disposed so as to be longitudinally offset from each other and to locate a gravitational center thereof in a rearward position of an axle of front wheels, and in addition an output shaft of the transmission and a center differential are disposed coaxially. With this arrangement, imbalanced weight distribution of the vehicle body on front wheels can be corrected, and a longitudinally-compact layout of the power transmission device can be obtained. Further, a height of a bonnet can be lowered.

  • Patent number: 5078229
Abstract: A four-wheel-drive motor vehicle with a transversely-disposed engine of such construction that a front differential which distributes motive power from a center differential to the right and left front wheels is arranged on the front axle and in the rear of the front differential, an engine and a transmission are arranged. By this arrangement, one-sidedness of the vehicle body weight to the front wheels can be relieved.

  • Patent number: 5064017
Abstract: In the four-wheel-drive motor vehicle of transversely-disposed type, a front differential and a center differential are arranged coaxially on the axle line of front wheels, and an engine and a transmission are disposed transversely to the vehicle body in the rear of these differentials. This arrangement can relieve one-sided action of the vehicle body weight on the front wheels.

  • Patent number: 5052747
Abstract: In a roof panel connected to a vehicle body through at least a pair of left-hand and right-hand front pillars and a pair of left-hand and right-hand rear pillars, there is formed a roof opening (3) large in size in such a manner as leaving a front header, a pair of left-hand and right-hand roof side rails, and a rear header and being surrounded by said four members. A foldable or windable flexible top having a size as substantially large as the roof opening is provided. The flexible top is disposed to selectively take a first posture in which the roof opening is closed and a second posture in which it is contracted in a longitudinal direction of the body and placed in a contracted state, i.e., in a folded or wound state, at a position nearby said rear header.

  • Patent number: 4783098
Abstract: A seat belt device for use in a motor vehicle which internally accommodates front and rear seats and in which the getting on and off the rear seat is executed after the front seat has been shifted frontwards through operation of an operating member disposed on the front seat to shift the front seat back and forth, with a securing point where the seat belt is secured to the vehicle body being provided at the side portion of a seat cushion of the front seat. The securing point of the seat belt is disposed freely reciprocably in the longitudinal direction of the motor vehicle so as to be shifted backwards in association with the operation of the operating member.
