  • Patent number: 11371635
Abstract: To provide a connector that facilitates assembly while having a great axial-direction engagement force, a male joint member to be connected to a first member has a plurality of outer protrusions, and a female joint member to be connected to a second member has a plurality of inner protrusions. A circumferential-direction gap between adjacent two inner protrusions allows the outer protrusion to pass therethrough. The female joint member has, in an area opposed to inner protrusion back surfaces, a circular space that allows the plurality of outer protrusions to relatively rotate therein. The inner protrusion back surfaces of the plurality of inner protrusions are engaged in the axial direction with outer protrusion back surfaces of the plurality of outer protrusions that have passed through the circumferential-direction gaps between the plurality of inner protrusions.

  • Patent number: 9905383
Abstract: A conduction-breaking device breaks conduction between a pair of devices in an electric circuit. The conduction-breaking device includes a conductive body having a cuttable portion, an arc-extinguishing chamber having a pair of fixed blades, a gas generator, a cutting member having a pair of movable blades, and a deforming mechanism. When the cuttable portion is cut at two positions by the fixed blades and the movable blades, the cuttable portion forms a separated piece, which is separated from the electric circuit, and first and second remaining portions, which remain connected with the electric circuit. The separated piece has cut ends at opposite ends. The deforming mechanism deforms the separated piece such that the cut ends of the separated piece are located on a leading side in a moving direction of the cutting member with respect to a part of the separated piece between the cut ends.

  • Patent number: 9381817
Abstract: A resistance connecting device includes a case inside of which a chamber is formed. The chamber includes inside an activating unit, a gas generating unit, a first connecting portion, and a second connecting portion. The first connecting portion and the second connecting portion extend from the inside to the outside of the case in a mutually separated state and are exposed in the chamber. The activating unit is held at a first position that does not cause contact with either of the connecting portions when the gas generating unit has not been activated and moves up to a second position to cause contact with both of the connecting portions as a result of activation of the gas generating unit. The activating unit, at the second position, functions as a resistor having a predetermined electrical resistance, and connects the connecting portions to one another.

  • Patent number: 8723356
Abstract: A power control unit (PCU) case accommodates an electric circuit of a PCU, which includes a first capacitor and is operated by electricity supply from a storage battery. In the electric circuit, a first bus bar is connected to a part in the vicinity of the anode of the first capacitor, and a second bus bar is connected to a part in the vicinity of the cathode of the first capacitor. A discharge mechanism is formed by connecting in series a switch activated by an explosive actuator and a discharging resistor. The discharge mechanism is integrally fixed to the PCU case. When a collision of the vehicle is detected, the discharge mechanism short-circuits the first bus bar and the second bus bar with each other through the activation of the switch. Accordingly, the discharge mechanism is connected in parallel with the first capacitor, so that the discharging resistor discharges the first capacitor.

  • Patent number: 8716615
Abstract: A conduction breaking device includes a movable member accommodated in an accommodation chamber of a case. A cutter portion projects from an advancing side of the movable member in the moving direction. A gas generator is arranged on the trailing side of the movable member in the moving direction. A conduction member extends to connect a pair of external connection portions and includes a pair of base portions and a breakable portion. The base portions are located in the side wall of the case and extend along the moving direction of the movable member. The breakable portion is shaped to connect the base portions to each other and to block the advancing side of the movable member in the moving direction. Step portions are formed in the breakable portion. Engaging portions that are engageable with the step portions are formed in the case.

  • Publication number: 20140083825
Abstract: An electric circuit breaking device includes a housing, which has an accommodating portion, and a bus bar, which extends through the accommodating portion. The housing has a receiving chamber, which has an opening that opens toward the bus bar. The housing also accommodates a cutting blade such that the cutting blade faces the receiving chamber with the bus bar in between. The cutting blade is moved toward the receiving chamber to apply a shearing force to the bus bar, thereby cutting the bus bar. A restraint position is defined in the vicinity of the cutting blade and in an area about the opening of the receiving chamber. The accommodating portion accommodates a block. At the restraint position, the block cooperates with the housing to hold the bus bar, thereby restraining movement of the bus bar.

Abstract: A conduction breaking device includes a conductive body arranged between a pair of devices in an electric circuit, a gas generator, which is arranged away from the conductive body and generates gas, and a cutting member, which is arranged between the conductive body and the gas generator. The cutting member is moved due to gas from the gas generator to cut the conductive body, divides the conductive body into a first cut piece and a second cut piece, which have cut ends separated from each other, and breaks the conduction between the devices. The conduction breaking device includes an arc-extinguishing chamber. In the arc-extinguishing chamber, the conductive body is cut by the cutting member and an arc occurring between the cut end of the first cut piece and the cut end of the second cut piece is extinguished.
