  • Patent number: 6569006
Abstract: A horizontal disk-type coin hopper is provided that reduces the propensity for coins to be standing on the rotating disk and improves coin pickup. The hopper prevents coin bridging and the coin interlocking phenomenon in a hopper tank. The coin hopper includes the tank with a pot shape for storing a plurality of coins and the disk (52) which is positioned substantially horizontally at the inner bottom of the tank. The disk rotates freely. A hole is opened in the disk and provides a passage for coins positioned in a horizontal state. The hopper has a mechanism for releasing coins with a stirring body (10) which is on the top surface of the disk and is arranged on the turn center position of the disk.

  • Patent number: 6013369
Abstract: A process for the production of insulator-coated black particles, which comprises the steps of(1-a) dispersing particles of silica or a metal oxide in an alcohol-based solvent consisting mainly of an intermediate alcohol to obtain a dispersion of the above particles,(1-c) forming a titanium oxide coating of TiO.sub.2 on the surface of each of the particles whose surfaces have been activated in the above step, to obtain titanium oxide-coated particles,(1-d) calcining the titanium oxide-coated particles obtained in the above step in a reducing and/or nitriding atmosphere and thereby blackening the above titanium oxide coatings to obtain black particles, and(1-e) forming an electrical insulator coating on a surface of each of the black particles obtained in the above step, to obtain insulator-coated black particles; characterized in that the process includes a step of(1-b) adding an alkaline aqueous solution to the dispersion obtained in step (1-a) to activate a surface of each of the particles of a metal oxide.

  • Patent number: 5866782
Abstract: A novel gene that can be used to identify male-sterile cytoplasm in plants, for example, of the Cruciferae family, and a method for producing hybrid plants using this gene are provided. This novel cms cytoplasmic gene is valuable in that it can be utilized in the production of hybrid plant seeds. This invention is also useful for rapidly identifying Kosena cms cytoplasm, a novel cytoplasm which exhibits characteristics valuable in plant breeding. In addition, this gene may possibly be used to confer cms onto a broad range of plant species, not limited to those of the Cruciferae family, by its introduction into nuclear or mitochondrial genomes.
