    Abstract: The bearing device has a bearing housing which is supported by a bearing base mounted on a body of a rotary machine equipped with a rotating shaft and through which the rotating shaft penetrates at the center and a plurality of pads which are arranged inside the bearing housing so as to circumferentially surround the rotating shaft and rotatably support the rotating shaft. A contact surface between an outer circumference of the bearing housing and an inner circumference of the bearing base extends along the axial direction of the rotating shaft and forms a convex curved surface protruding outward, and the bearing housing is slidably supported by the bearing base via the contact surface of the convex curved surface.
